Certain foods—especially dairy, refined sugar, white flour, fried foods, processed meats, and alcohol—can trigger inflammation and thicken mucus in the body. When the body is inflamed, it produces extra mucus as a protective response. Over time, this can show up as:

1 in every 10 people had at least 1 Urinary Tract Infection in 2025.

More than 800,000 American people are currently on dialysis.

You know that feeling when your throat gets scratchy, your nose feels a little off, and you think… “oh no, I’m getting sick” 🤧

That moment is actually your best window to support your immune system—with food.

When I feel a cold coming on, I focus on getting these key vitamins and minerals from real foods:

Vitamin C – supports white blood cells
→ citrus fruits, kiwi, strawberries, bell peppers

Vitamin A – protects the nose, throat, and lungs
→ sweet potatoes, carrots, egg yolks, dark leafy greens

Vitamin D – supports immune and respiratory health
→ sunlight, egg yolks, fatty fish, cod liver oil

B vitamins – support energy and immune response
→ grass-fed meat, eggs, leafy greens, legumes

Vitamin E – helps protect immune cells
→ sunflower seeds, almonds, avocado

While silicones aren’t always “toxic,” many people choose to limit them because of how they behave on the skin and in the body.

Top 3 product categories that commonly contain silicones:
1. Hair products (conditioners, serums, heat protectants)
→ dimethicone, amodimethicone
2. Makeup & skincare (primers, foundations, moisturizers)
→ cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone
3. Deodorants & lotions
→ silicone blends used for slip and smooth feel

The words “NATURAL” and “CLEAN” mean absolutely nothing about the safety of the product.

A lot of products use words like natural, eco, or clean — but those terms aren’t regulated. That means brands can use them even when the product still contains ingredients linked to irritation, hormone disruption, or hidden fragrance blends.

The truth?
“Clean” on the front doesn’t mean much unless you flip the bottle over and read the ingredient list.
