*From CAP President Jermaine Lowrie*
Dear Colleagues and Friends in Pharmacy Across the Caribbean

Every year on 25 September, the world pauses to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of pharmacists. In the Caribbean, this year’s theme — “Think Health, Think Pharmacist” — speaks directly to our reality: pharmacists are central to the health and well-being of our communities.

Across our region, pharmacists serve in diverse roles:
• Guardians of medication safety and quality, ensuring patients receive medicines that are safe, effective, and authentic.
• Public health champions, providing education, vaccination, and disease prevention services.
• Accessible care providers, often the first and most trusted point of contact in our health systems.
• Advocates and leaders, working with governments and stakeholders to shape stronger, more sustainable health services.

Despite challenges such as limited resources, chronic disease burdens, and vulnerability to natural disasters, pharmacists across the Caribbean continue to demonstrate resilience, compassion, and innovation.

On this World Pharmacists Day, the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists calls on our communities, partners, and leaders to recognize that pharmacy without the pharmacist is incomplete. Whenever our people think about health, they must think of the pharmacist — a professional rooted in science, guided by ethics, and committed to service.

We celebrate every pharmacist working in hospitals, community practice, academia, research, regulation, and beyond. Your dedication makes healthier futures possible for our region.

Happy World Pharmacists Day 2025!
