International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is held on 3 December each year.
In Australia, 5.5 million people live with disability. Osteopaths may help people with physical disabilities or other disabilities that have a physical impact to live as independently as possible within their home, school or local community. For example, they will observe your movement and function in specific environments to assess how this may be improved and how any pain or discomfort may be relieved.

However, if you plan to have your osteo treatment covered by health insurance, some insurance plans may require a referral from your GP or specialist to authorise coverage for osteopathic treatment. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific policy details regarding referrals and coverage for osteopathic care.

Dealing with nagging lower back or tailbone pain? Your sacroiliac joint may be the culprit.
💡 Did you know that both too much and too little movement in this joint - where your sacrum meets your pelvis - can trigger discomfort?
Osteopaths may guide you with tailored exercises to help stretch or stabilise your muscles, easing pain and restoring balance.
Many older Australians believe the effect of ageing on their joints is untreatable and inevitable. Pain can make life harder - but support is available.
Osteopaths are trained to assess and may help manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions affecting older people.
