Students of color educated in high poverty urban schools have traditionally experienced low achievement. However, there are some high poverty schools serving large concentrations of students of color that achieve high levels of academic performance. What if we can identify these systems and structures in the high achievement schools that have been shown to produce a positive impact on academic performance by facilitating effective strategies in the classroom and within the school itself?
