Meeting for Those Involved with NAR New York Times Article
When we encounter circumstances that test our resilience, we’re likely to experience changes in mood, loss of trust, anger, depression, anxiety, and physical symptoms. If any of this sounds familiar and you’d like to be in community with others who understand, we hope you’ll join us.
You are: Someone who was interviewed by The New York Times for Debra Kamin’s article, President of Powerful Realtors Group Is Accused of Sexual Harassment, published on August 26, or has worked at the National Association of Realtors and is experiencing a reaction to the article.

We are: Gus Nava, PhD, and Catherine Corey, a PhD graduate student with association workplace experience. Together, we specialize in workplace trauma debriefing and process groups, as well as moral injury research and creating psychologically safe spaces for understanding impact and resilience.
Together: We will create a virtual space using HIPAA-compliant Zoom designed to do three things:
Identify and normalize what you may be experiencing, as well as identify potential things to watch for;
Share information on moral injury, resilience, and additional resources for support; and
Hold space for questions and conversation.
When: Wednesday, September 13, at 7:30 pm ET/6:30 pm CT (for approximately 2 hours)
How: Email Catherine Corey at ccorey@thefamilycenter.com with your name and dates worked at NAR. This list will be kept confidential as dictated by the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and used only to ensure a safe online meeting space. Catherine will then follow up with Zoom information.
Cost: This meeting is being offered pro bono as a service of The Family Center.
Questions? Please feel free to contact Catherine Corey at ccorey@thefamilycenter.com or Dr. Gus Nava at drgusnava@yahoo.com.
Please note: This meeting is not being held in conjunction with or on behalf of either the National Association of Realtors or The New York Times and does not involve individual or group therapy. The Family Center Counselling Associates, PLLC in Falls Church, Virigina is a multidisciplinary private practice comprised of psychologists, social workers, counselors, mediators, coaches, attorneys, parenting coordinators, and child development specialists/educators.
Thank you for your willingness to share your lived experience in service of greater change, both at work and across society as a whole. We hear you, see you, and stand with you.
