Orchard Mews Care Home Orchard Mews is situated in the popular area of Benwell, near the River Tyne in Newcastle.

This purpose-built care home offers residential, nursing and dementia care.

Last week, our residents were delighted to welcome Newcastle Apostolic Church for a wonderful evening of singing. 🎢

One of our residents even brought along their own drums to join in, while others chose the songs we all sang together.

Thank you so much to Newcastle Apostolic Church for bringing joy, music, and smiles into our home. πŸ’™

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Burns Night at Orchard Mews πŸ₯ƒ

Today at Orchard Mews, we celebrated Robert Burns with a traditional Scottish supper of haggis, neeps (turnip/swede), and tatties (mashed potatoes).

After tea, we came together to read Robert Burns’ most famous poem, Address to a Haggis, followed by singing and a lively ceilidh dance. A wonderful evening enjoyed by all! πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Today was Science Day! πŸ”¬πŸš€
We spent the morning making a spaceman. In the afternoon, we opened a surprise box filled with little balls, each containing different space items. We talked about each one and learned some fun facts.

We then did an exciting experiment using water and pictures, and finished the day with a quiz to test our science knowledge. What a fun and educational day!

We’ve had an amazing year in 2025, filled with wonderful adventures β€” from trips to St James’s Park, Whitley Bay Playhouse, and many more memorable days out.

We’ve also been lucky to enjoy fantastic entertainers throughout the year, along with some great celebrations shared together.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to see what the new year brings, with even more great adventures still to come. 🌟
