It’s been awhile since a proper post, but I’m still here doing my thing, so I figured a little transparency would be good.
🚴
With over 10 years experience of being a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and over 5 years of bike fitting experience (still the only certified BikePT in the state of Virginia), what I provide is +++More Than Just a Bike Fit+++
🚴
I treat patients every 30 minutes (sometimes over 30-40 different people each week), measuring joint ranges of motion frequently (which is what most of bike fitting is). However, due to this schedule, many bike fit clients have to wait a few weeks for a 1.5-2hr opening, so I average around 3 fits per month throughout the year.
🚴
Those clients and patients that are willing to wait for an opening now have a better understanding that our asymmetrical bodies may need more strength, ROM, or flexibility in order to tolerate the demands of riding a symmetrical machine for multiple hours.
🚴
I do not do 3D cameras, 3D saddle mapping, or sell products.
🚴
I am not a bike mechanic, but am comfortable making simple adjustments in a timely manner.
🚴
I DO take time to assess your body’s flexibility, mobility, strength, and asymmetries in order to better position you on your bike to minimize overuse injuries or exacerbate underlying pre-existing musculoskeletal issues (especially with any history of surgeries or other chronic medical conditions).
🚴
I DO provide customized exercises, upon request, to work on these deficits.
🚴
I DO typically respond to emails within 48 hours, even months or years after a fit. You will be a client for life, just like my patients, and I have been more than happy to answer questions that are more musculoskeletal related than bike fit related.
🚴
I DO always work with what you have, and then make suggestions on possible future adjustments or equipment that may make your positioning even more comfortable if absolutely needed…less is more!
