The issue of stigma surrounding obesity is becoming increasingly important. As overweight and obese children grow up into overweight and obese adolescents, issues with self esteem and shame are translating to issues with mental health.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health notes that the ongoing epidemic of childhood obesity is jeopardizing the future health of well-being of child

As this year comes to a close and we begin to bid farewell to some of our executive team members who are graduating, we are also looking to bring on some new faces, ideas, perspectives and great minds to add to our team! Hey Ryerson! Have you heard about our upcoming event? We're bringing in Dr. Jason Chung to talk to us, our members, and friends about inflammation, obesity, and diabetes. Friday's talk, held in Eggy's Summit Room at the Mattamy Athletic Center (Maple Leaf Gardens/Loblaws/Church and Carlton) at 430pm is called "Fat and Muscle..Naughty or Nice?"

Hey Ryerson CON members! We have another fantastic and interesting talk coming up and we'd like to invite you all!

After what's bound to be yet another long week, come unwind, learn, and discuss with us and our guest Dr. Jason Chung! We'll be talking obesity, inflammation, type 2 diabetes, fat, and muscle.
