I see lots of women telling me they want to balance their hormones and lose fat (inc breastfeeding mums) and they are counting calories and walking / exercising but nothing happens!

Here’s the thing about calories:

Calorie counting often doesn’t work for long-term weight loss because it oversimplifies how the body processes food and ignores the hormonal effects that different foods have. A calorie is simply a unit of energy—it measures the amount of energy released when food is burned in a lab. However, not all calories are equal when it comes to how your body responds to them.

For example, 100 calories from sugar will affect your body very differently than 100 calories from protein or fat. Carbohydrates, especially processed ones, spike insulin levels, which signals your body to store fat. On the other hand, protein stimulates muscle growth and fat burning, while fat provides steady energy without spiking insulin. This hormonal response means that the type of food you eat matters far more than the calorie count alone.

Additionally, calorie counting ignores factors like nutrient density, satiety, and how certain foods affect metabolism. Your body is not a calculator—it’s a complex system influenced by hormones, gut health, and the quality of the food you eat & even when you eat. Eating nutrient-dense, whole foods that support metabolic and hormonal health will naturally lead to better weight management than simply tracking calories.

So, being a mum of 3 who’s had 40lbs to lose after each baby, I created a program that does exactly this! Helping mums lose 8-20lbs in 8 weeks or less, after babies without counting, or doing hour of cardio! Instead we focus on meal timing, nourishment, igniting fat burning via food and lifestyle habits & daily support from me to keep you on track 🙌❤️☺️

I get a lot of women saying they started carnivore with their partners to lose weight, and here’s the thing: A breastfeeding mum needs a different strategy compared to a man! Or even a woman who aren’t breastfeeding 🤱

🫶 I love carnivore and keto, they are great tools BUT a common mistake I see is this ⬇️⬇️⬇️

🔹Women cutting all carbs over night, without being metabolically flexible or fat-adapted (aka using fat for fuel). This shift can take a few weeks or even months, and in the process you need to also ensure you stay hydrated (that goes beyond just pure water) to maintain your milk supply!

🔹Second thing I see is this: Most women WANT to eat carbs but they think they have to cut all carbs to lose fat, and that’s not true! I work with all levels of carnivore, keto, low carb and animal based. We can use carbs as a leaver but in no way is there a must to cut allll carbs. I enjoy going for periods without carbs, but I also want my body to be in a state where it can process carbs from whole foods without any issues - I do a lot of this work inside my 8 week fat loss challenge & also in my gut healing protocol ❤️

I know how hard it can be. Many of us started our little ones with focus on cereal / fruits & veggies, thinking we were giving them the best start. But now, if you’re dealing with a picky eater who only wants carbs and sugary foods, you’re not alone.

I went through this with my oldest, it’s 100% reversible!🙌

THE GUT MICROBIOME 🦠

The truth is, picky eating often stems from an imbalance in the gut microbiome, which directly affects the gut-brain axis. So, how do you get your child to eat these super foods?

For babies it’s easy! They are curious and open about foods. Keep offering! For older toddlers, be creative (I’ve got some tips inside my guide!) and remember you buy and cook the foods! They will get hungry & the gut microbes change quickly, day 1-3 is the hardest but then the sun will shine again 🫶

I see a lot of carnivore people wanting to heal their gut, that’s why they got on the diet in the first place! Carnivore removes a lot of foods and this is why a lot of people see such great improvements, and of course animal foods are very nutrient rich!

I’ve had people message me saying they did carnivore for 3 months and re-introduced some foods but felt horrible and got reactions.

Some will argue “you shouldn’t eat those foods” but it doesn’t make sense when some people can’t tolerate beef, or eggs, or dairy!

When the gut is damaged, your body reacts to any undigested foods proteins that enters the bloodstream, both from animal and plant origin.

Healing your gut requires strategic nutrition and using things like meat stock and ferments to support healing & detoxification.

Don’t get me wrong, my gut protocol is very meat and fat heavy BUT eating eggs and steak IF you have gut issues is likely or enough to actually heal long term.

Now let’s talk about what causes a leaky gut in the first place. ⬇️

I get people message me alllll the time saying “my baby is breastfed and only eat home-made organic foods and nothing processed but she’s got eczema” 😩

Here’s the thing: ⬇️

👉Babies are born with an undeveloped digestive tracts aka their gut is kinda leaky already! Hence you want to only feed them nourishing, healing foods! That’s mostly animal al products

👉Your microbiome as a mum matters, & dad! If you’ve ever had antibiotics, eaten processed foods, been on the pill, jabs, toxins from water / environment etc 👉all these things damage your microbes and gut which we pass on, and into our babies. 👶

👉 Was birth a c-section? It matters as a lot of important microbes are transferred as Bub goes through the birth canal. C-section babies miss out on these microbes

👉 What is your diet like? Before/during/after pregnancy

👉Lots of parents focus on veggies when starting solids (which doesn’t heal the gut) but are actually hard to digest and can show up as allergies.

What to do ⬇️

✨We want to focus on nourishment that mimic the role and benefits of breastmilk.

I wish this was a joke…..😩

This was a male paediatrician without kids and he also asked if I wanted to take my 11 month old to a dietitian 🤯😱 like WTF!!!!!

This was with my first baby, he didn’t even eat that much food until 12 m + (prob cause I tried to feed him veggies all the time 🙄🙃) and we always breastfed on demand! He never had formula or a bottle (which can cause over-feeding). He walked at 7 months of age and he is so strong and muscular for his age, even now at soon 5 people think he’s 7!

The pure ignorance of this doctor is beyond me!!!
Safe to say, we never went back. 🫣

Another doctor said at our 4 month check up we should start rice cereal because “babies need carbs and not just breastmilk”

Again, with my first baby.

My other kids only see doctors if they get very sick and need extra help (which hasn’t happened!) 😌

Serious question ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Why do doctors / people think nature messed up ?

& that processed foods are healthier than breast milk?

That a company like nestle is here to save all these poor breastfed babies with formula and baby food?

I don’t get how a company that earns 9 billions in a year from selling chocolate also claims to care about healthy eating for babies? Two very different niches but both obviously highly profitable 🙃

Where did common sense go? Nature is perfect.

I’ve got 3 kids, all breastfed and never touched rice cereal. 🥣

1. Meat stock ✨

First, we need to heal and seal the gut lining. Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body! Our entire digestive system is made of connective tissues which is made largely from collagen, the fastest way of healing your gut is through homemade meat stock, not bone broth 😉

Secondly we want to rebuild the gut flora with probiotic foods!

2. Sauerkraut ⬇️

Sauerkraut contains beneficial bacteria like *Lactobacillus plantarum* and *Lactobacillus brevis*, which produce lactic acid. ✨Baby has stored iron from in-utero & birth. At 6 months, baby’s iron stores are getting lower, mothers milk may not provide enough iron, therefore baby’s iron (+ zinc and protein) requirements goes up & we start solids.

🔥We started our middle child on a heavy animalbased diet (carnivore) at 6 months, and to this day his favourite food is still steak!!! A close second is mince, butter & salt lol
He is now meat-based / animal based meaning he also eats fruit and selected seasonal plants (he’s almost 2.5yrs old)

*Before I get all the “balanced mums, vegan mums, we must feed them rice meal & veggies” and whatever other combinations there are, this is just OUR story! 😊

Honestly, I fed my first differently (probably above average still) but yeah, there is a difference in meat-based babies 🤷‍♀️
I plan on feeding my third baby carnivore 6-12 months as well! Maybe longer. That way he gets a really good taste of meat that will carry through as he gets older, which is key to avoid picky eaters! As well as avoiding sugar, starches & processed junk for as long as possible, which gets harder with age & the more kids you have. BUT let’s try to give them a magical start at life (which really starts before they are even born 🤰✨❤️)

✨He also got my breastmilk as he fed on demand, which also technically is carnivore 😜 🤱 🥛

👶 So, what did we feed him?

✨Eggs (whole)

✨Bone marrow

✨Grass-fed Butter

✨Prawns

✨Steak

✨Slow Cooked Brisket & Chuck

✨Shredded Chicken

This is my third time losing 20kg +, (40lbs) and it’s been easier than ever now that I know how to turn on my ability to burn fat for fuel, like a light switch 😉 🔥

If you’re reading this and having issues losing fat and you’ve been told the weight won’t come off because of breastfeeding, just remember …. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

👉Your body is smart, it stored fat on your body to feed your baby postpartum, incase foods would be scares.
Now, you just need to learn how to access it and the fat can & will “melt off”!

👉If you’re putting in a lot of hard work already (prioritising your food, making time for self care and exercise) but don’t see any results, my eyes on your daily routine is going to help you see what needs to change for your hard work to pay off. Here is an example; My car broke down so I went to a mechanic, problem solved. I don’t spend time googling how to change the clutch myself! Why would I? I have been where you are, so I get it!
