A Reason To Smile ARTS is a non-profit organization that was established to alleviate the suffering from dental disease where there is no access to proper dental care.

A Reason To Smile (ARTS) was established by Dr. Gunther Heyder, a dentist in the Outer Banks area of North Carolina, to empower communities without access to dental professionals to achieve and maintain a higher level of oral health by providing hygiene education, direct treatment, and dental supplies. We travel to two different locations each year with a team of dentists, assistants, hygienists, and non-dental professionals and are always seeking like-minded, caring, adventurous spirits to join us on a trip! The experience is great, and the need is even greater.
