A Life-Saving Success!🩸

“Dugo Mo, Regalo Mo: Handog Pag-asa ngayong Pasko”

The Local Government Unit of Burgos through the Rural Health Unit, in partnership with Cagayan Valley-Regional Blood Center, successfully conducted a Blood Letting Activity in support of ensuring an adequate and safe blood supply for our community.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the strong leadership and unwavering support of Honorable Mayor Kervin Francis G. Uy, together with the guidance and commitment of the Municipal Health Officer, Maricel S. Salamida, the dedicated coordination of the Blood Coordinator, Ms. Cony Gay G. Gonda, and the committed efforts of the RHU Staff who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth
implementation of the activity.

The RHU Burgos extends its sincere gratitude to all voluntary blood donors, healthcare personnel, and partner agencies whose cooperation, professionalism, and generosity contributed to the success of this life-saving activity. 👏RHU Burgos Receives New Urine Analyzer from CV-CHD Region 2

The Rural Health Unit proudly announces the acceptance and receipt of a brand-new Urine Analyzer provided by the Cagayan Valley-Center for Health Development.

This essential medical equipment will significantly enhance our diagnostic capabilities, allowing our health workers to deliver more accurate and more reliable services to the people of Burgos.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to CV-CHD Region 2 for their continuous support and partnership in strengthening local healthcare systems.

This milestone is a testament to the dynamic leadership of our Hon. Mayor Kervin Francis G. Uy, whose commitment to improving public health continues to bring meaningful progress to our community. Our Malaria Coordinator together with the Municipal Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (MESU), participated in the Quality Assurance, Consultative Meeting and Program Implementation Review on the Malaria Control Program. During the activity, they presented the municipality’s established best practices in sustaining our Malaria-Free status—proof of what strong surveillance, community engagement, and teamwork can achieve. We remain committed to upholding high standards in disease prevention and control.

Let’s continue strengthening our fight against malaria! 💪🦠

‼️ SA BAWAT SIGARILYONG HINIHITHIT, KALUSUGAN NG BAGA ANG KAPALIT ‼️

Ang paninigarilyo ay ang pangunahing dahilan ng pagkakaroon ng Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease o COPD ng 7 sa bawat 10 pasyente.

Ang COPD ay isang sakit na nagdudulot ng pagbara sa daluyan ng hangin. Ang pagkakaroon ng COPD ay nagpapataas ng tsansa na magkaroon ng kanser sa baga, sakit sa puso at iba pa.

✅ Tumawag sa DOH Quitline 1558 para matulungan kang itigil ang paninigarilyo and pagvavape.
✅ Kumonsulta sa pinakamalapit na Smoking Cessation Counselling Clinic sa inyong lugar

✅ Strengthening Community Resilience✅

Last November 14, we successfully conducted a Symposium on Disaster Preparedness and Emerging/Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases highlighting urgent public health topics such as HIV, mental health, teenage pregnancy, and tuberculosis.

Senior High School students from the participating schools attended the activity, Burgos National High School, San Antonino National High School and Bacnor National High School demonstrating their commitment to awareness, preparedness, and responsible decision-making. Their active engagement throughout the discussions reflects the importance of empowering youth with accurate information and preventive strategies.

We extend our utmost appreciation to the MDRRMO for collaborating with the RHU staffs, who served as our resource speakers and to the Municipal Officials headed by our Hon. Mayor Kervin Francis G. Uy for their continued support.

We remain steadfast in our mission to support youth education, community resilience, and public health advocacy through continuous collaboration and capacity-building initiatives.

The recently concluded TB Caravan was a success. As part of the activity, the Clinical Laboratory team rendered HIV screening services, reinforcing our continued dedication and further advancing our mission to deliver essential health services to the community.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our Honorable Mayor Kervin Francis G. Uy, our Municipal Health Officer, Dra Maricel S. Salamida, our ever supportive Barangay Captain of Caliguian, ma’am Maria Encarlonia L. Gragasin, our dedicated RHU Staffs and BHWs for their invaluable support in making our TB Caravan Program a success. Your leadership, cooperation, and commitment to the health and well-being of our community made this important initiative possible. Also, a huge thank you to all our participants.
