Gwen Heiner is an essential part of the Geneva Program. Though new to the supervisor role, Gwen has stepped into leadership with confidence, humility, and genuine heart.

Gwen shows up each day with purpose and care, supporting students while maintaining high expectations for their growth. She creates an environment where the boys feel safe to be themselves—able to laugh, connect, and engage meaningfully in their work.

Equally impactful is the way Gwen leads her staff. She prioritizes training, notices when support is needed, and steps in without hesitation. Her team feels supported, capable, and valued because of her thoughtful leadership.

Gwen’s steadiness, collaborative approach, and clear vision positively influence everyone around her. The culture of Geneva is stronger because of her presence.

We are proud to recognize Gwen Heiner as our South Campus Supervisor of the Year.

We are thrilled to announce Abi Anderson as the Resident Advisor of the Year for our South Campus!

Abi exemplifies Telos's Mission through her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our students. She consistently demonstrates effectiveness, reliability, and an exceptional ability to build meaningful and inspiring relationships.

Even in challenging moments, she approaches each situation with patience and care, always working to strengthen relationships and foster growth.

Her consistent effort, creativity, and heart have made a lasting impact on both our students and our team. We are incredibly grateful for her contributions and proud to honor her as Resident Advisor of the Year.

Chess isn’t just a game—it’s a workout for the brain.
This week, students have been gathering for matches that strengthen executive functioning, strategy, and planning ahead. Each move requires patience, foresight, and emotional regulation, all skills that translate far beyond the board.

And while the competition is real, it’s also healthy. Students challenge one another, learn from mistakes, celebrate wins, and pick themselves up after losses.

It’s a simple game with powerful benefits—and it’s been great to see so many students leaning in, thinking deeply, and enjoying the process.

TESTIMONIAL: Meet Mike, sharing how Telos continues to shape his life years later:

“For me, just getting to Telos and receiving day-to-day support from people who initially felt like strangers—but believed in me deeply—changed everything. They had faith that I could make real, sustainable changes, even when I didn’t think it myself. The staff and peers worked alongside me when I didn’t yet have the autonomy or confidence to do it alone.

I still think about Telos every day. It continues to impact how I live and how I treat others. I still have relationships with people who supported me there—both peers and staff—even seven or eight years later. That tells you how powerful the experience truly was.”

We are grateful for stories like Mike’s and honored to walk alongside those doing the brave work of healing and growth.

Telos U is where independence, growth, and real-world readiness come together. Designed for young adults ready for less structure and greater responsibility, Telos U offers a supportive coed environment focused on personal growth and healthy independence.

As the largest population on campus, Telos U provides meaningful opportunities for freedom while still surrounding students with skilled Life Coaches and therapists who specialize in young adult development. As trust is built, students earn increasing independence—learning to navigate life with confidence, resilience, and purpose.

We’re proud to support young adults as they take the next steps toward their future.

Growing Up Online: How Technology is Shaping a Generation’s Struggle

Today’s young adults are the first generation to grow up fully immersed in technology—and that reality matters. From constant connectivity to curated online identities, technology didn’t just influence how they communicate; it shaped how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. This digital upbringing has quietly become one of the most powerful forces driving anxiety, avoidance, and difficulty navigating real-world challenges.

This reel explores how growing up online has impacted resilience, emotional development, and independence—and why understanding this context is essential for parents, clinicians, and program leaders. When we recognize technology as a shared backdrop rather than a personal failure, we create space for empathy, insight, and more effective support for young adults finding their footing in adulthood.
