The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves”. Today, a trained doula provides continuous emotional, informational and physical support before, during and after birth. She can assist at home, in the hospital, and even with a c-section! She is there for you throughout your family journey, on a non-medical level, to provide encouragement, information and a variety of comfort measures.
