There is something so powerful about walking into a birth space and seeing a familiar, trusted face.

Today I ran into an incredible doula sister who is now serving as an L&D nurse — and let me tell you… that’s a DREAM scenario. ✨

When a nurse understands physiological birth.
When she respects the sacredness of the space.
When she knows how to protect a mother’s voice instead of override it.
When she honors the doula’s role instead of competing with it.

That kind of collaboration can completely transform a birth experience.

Because birth isn’t just about clinical outcomes — it’s about how a mother feels in the process. It’s about safety. It’s about dignity. It’s about being heard.

When doulas and nurses flow together with mutual respect, wisdom, and humility, it creates an atmosphere that can redeem fear, calm anxiety, and shift the entire tone of the room. Even challenging births can feel empowering when the support is unified.

To my doula sisters stepping into hospital roles — you are bridges. You are culture shifters. You are answers to prayers.

And to the nurses who honor birth work with gentleness and strength — we see you.

Collaboration over competition.
Protection over pressure.
Support over ego.

That’s how we change birth. 🤍

It’s an ancient calling…

Women have been guiding and supporting women in birth since the very beginning of time.

As a doula, I feel a sacred pull to the birth space. Over the past 17 years, I’ve gained a deep wisdom that has served, guided, and blessed the families I’ve supported.

Protecting the birth space is not just part of what we do — it’s who we are.

Doulas are the gatekeepers… holding peace, advocacy, and strength at the doorway of new life.

I call it “The Birth Hangover” 😂
This is the other side of serving with your whole heart… and not sleeping for two days straight.

To be fair… I supported two births in two days, so it was beautifully productive and completely hectic.

But once the baby is here…
the adrenaline fades…
and then comes the crash 😮‍💨

I’m so thankful for my daughters and my husband who support this ministry of birth, give me grace, and pour right back into me when I’m running on empty.

Doula life is sacred… but whew, it’s REAL.
✨ Rest is part of the calling too.
So if you see your local doula looking sleepy… just know a miracle was witnessed. 🤍

You know I was just thinking, I cannot believe I have been in this business for 17 years?!!! I mean maintaining any career over a decade is an accomplishment for anyone, however being self-employed and operating in your passion is something I truly don't believe I thank God enough for. 🥹💕 The time seems to have flown by and so far I have been blessed to be a part of 170+ births!

Being a doula is not just what I do, it's who I am. One of the many things God has called me to be for His glory. ❤️
.. And I truly love what I do.

VBAC hopeful mamas… you hold a special place in my heart. 🤍
That last session before baby matters so much—confidence, clarity, and preparation come together.

Honored to support and walk with this family as they prepare to meet their newest little love.
