Transitions Are Hard

Starting a new school year, moving, a relationship shift, even happy changes like a new job… all of these can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, or off balance.

Here’s why:

Research shows that any change—good or bad—shakes up our routines and makes our brains work extra hard to adjust (KQED
).

Studies even find that big life changes can raise stress hormones, make sleep harder, and increase worry (ScienceDirect
).

But here’s the good news: with the right support, transitions can also spark growth, resilience, and deeper connections (LSE Research
).

Yin Yoga and Expressive Arts Group 🧘🏼‍♀️ 🎨 📓🧘🏽‍♂️

FAQ:
1. What is this group good for?
It is good for treating anxiety, racing thoughts, and insomnia. Yin Yoga will calm your mind and nervous system; expressive arts will allow you to process and release emotional blockages and access higher levels of strength and resilience.

2. Why should I do this?
This group will strengthen neural pathways in your brain that promote safety, calmness, optimism, and balance. This means your whole system will be more likely to experience these states going forward.

3. Is yin yoga hard?
No. You won't sweat and it's not a weight-bearing or cardiovascular exercise. You will get a stretch through your fascia. It's great for beginners.

4. What are expressive arts?
Expressive arts use modalities like drawing, collage, dance, theatre, and/or writing to creatively explore and express feelings, thoughts, and experiences. They are about the process, not the product.

5. I'm scared to be with other people. Can I join?
Yes. It is a small group so we can get to know one another. You are welcome to be yourself: please be yourself. There is a maximum of 5 group members to keep the group feeling small and safe.

6. When is it?
Wednesdays from 9am-11am
June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13

7. Where is it?
Lenox, MA

8. What does it cost?
$200 total

9. How do I register?
Register by paying in full using cash, check, or Venmo. Your payment reserves your spot.

10. Aren't you offering other things?
Yes. You can join me to dance Shake Your Soul ® weekly on Saturday mornings in Pittsfield and later this summer I'll run an Authentic Movement Group. Ask for more info. 😀
