I wish more people with Hashimoto’s knew this…

Working out more, counting macros, and “eating clean” is not how you lose weight with Hashimotos Disease.

Those things can be helpful later.

But if your body is dealing with chronic inflammation, those strategies often just leave you feeling:

• exhausted
• frustrated
• stuck in weight loss resistance

Because the real issue isn’t usually calories.

It’s inflammation driven by your root cause.

When your body is inflamed, it can affect:

– metabolism
– hormone balance
– nutrient absorption
– cortisol regulation
– gut health

So you can be doing all the right things… and still feel like your body is fighting you.

This is why my approach to Hashimotos healing doesn’t start with calories or workouts.

It starts with identifying:

✔ your root cause
✔ the inflammation damage it created
✔ and what your body specifically needs to repair

When inflammation starts healing, your body often becomes much more responsive to nutrition and movement again.

This is the method I used in my own healing journey and the same method I use with my clients.

Most people trying to lose weight with Hashimoto’s are following a plan.

A diet.
A supplement protocol.
A hormone fix.
A gut protocol.

But Hashimoto’s healing doesn’t work like that.

Because the real issue isn’t just weight gain.
It’s inflammation caused by your root cause.

And until you address that…
your body will keep fighting you.

For example:

• Taking supplements because you’re deficient - but your gut inflammation is preventing absorption.
• Trying to fix hormones - but the real problem is gut inflammation disrupting hormone detox and cycling.
• Cutting calories - but inflammation has slowed your metabolism and stressed your body even more.

This is why I stopped following “plans.”

And started using a method.

A method that focuses on:

1️⃣ Identifying your root cause
2️⃣ Understanding the inflammation damage it created
3️⃣ Healing the body in the right order

Because when inflammation starts healing, the weight loss resistance usually does too.

But I should also tell you I also had a 10 year pity party in the beginning. So I really did let it get worse BEFORE I decided I wanted to be better.

But then I learned that there’s no such thing as the perfect time. You’re always always always going to have life happening. Maybe that’s an event or travel or you get sick. Healing with hashimotos isn’t waiting for the perfect time to heal. It’s doing the best you can with what you have, and then you pivot as life hands you more pivots (just like the Friends episode).

I didn’t heal with hashimotos because I was perfect. I healed because I did what I could and continued to work for more.

This client was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 11 years ago.
For a decade she did everything she was told to do.

She worked with:
• specialists
• functional doctors
• hormone providers

She spent a lot of money trying to heal.

But her inflammation kept getting worse.

Her weight kept climbing.

And her symptoms kept piling up.

When she came to me 9 months ago, the first thing we did wasn’t change her diet or add supplements.

Going gluten-free is not a healing plan for Hashimoto’s.

Yes, it can lower inflammation.
Yes, it can help.

But gluten is usually the irritant - not the root cause.

If removing gluten was enough, you wouldn’t still be:
– Bloated
– Exhausted
– Struggling to lose weight
– Dealing with hormone chaos

The real question isn’t “Should I go gluten-free?”

It’s: Why is my immune system reactive in the first place?

Is it:
• H. pylori?
• Bacterial overgrowth?
• Leaky gut?
• Chronic stress?
• Viral reactivation?

Food changes can support healing.

But they rarely fix the deeper dysfunction.

If you’ve cleaned up your diet and still feel stuck… it’s time to dig deeper.

First:
There is no single “root cause test.”

There isn’t one lab you take that says:
“This is your root cause.”

That’s not how autoimmune disease works.

Your root cause is the trigger that started the immune attack.

For some people it’s:
• A gut infection
• Epstein-Barr
• Mold exposure
• Chronic stress
• Blood sugar dysregulation
• Long-term nutrient depletion

But here’s the part most people miss:

Even if we identify the trigger…
That doesn’t tell us what your body needs to heal.

Because the root cause creates inflammation.
And that inflammation causes damage.

That damage looks different for everyone.

One person ends up with:
– Leaky gut
– Low stomach acid
– Iron absorption issues

Another ends up with:
– Hormone disruption
– Estrogen clearance issues
– Cortisol dysregulation

Same root category.
Different impact.

That’s why so many people say:
“I’ve tried everything.”

You didn’t fail.
You likely just didn’t identify:

1️⃣ What triggered the immune response
2️⃣ What damage that trigger caused
3️⃣ And the correct order to heal it

Root cause matters because if you don’t heal what the inflammation damaged… you stay stuck.

You can’t supplement your way out of it.
You can’t macro your way out of it.
You can’t gluten-free your way out of it.

You need strategy.

Read before you come at me!

Here’s the truth most won’t say out loud:
👉 Supplements don’t heal Hashimoto’s.
They support healing - when you choose the right ones for your body and pair them with the right protocol.

Without a custom plan, you’re just throwing money at capsules hoping something sticks… and wondering why you still feel like garbage. And most don’t know you’re too inflamed to even absorb them 🙈 most companies will use it as a money grab and I am NOT here to let you flush money down the toilet.

✨ I’m not anti-supplement - I’m anti-random supplements. That’s why in my healing protocols, we only use targeted support based on your root cause and inflammation damage. No more guessing.

But YES - you do need foundational vitamins + minerals daily (especially selenium, magnesium, zinc, and B vitamins). I personally use one super supplement that helps me cover those bases without juggling 8 bottles.

It has nothing to do with:
•FaceTape (although I do love it)
•or that I’m special - because I’m not

And if you’ve followed my journey at all, you know that I did a lot of things for about 10 years that didn’t help me.

So what changed? My understanding of hashimotos.

Hashimotos is an autoimmune where your body is responding to inflammation from your body attacking your thyroid (and then other healthy tissues). There’s no medication for it but the best way to heal is to understand what is causing the attack (aka root cause) and heal the damage done by the attack and inflammation. That healing isn’t random supplements or cutting out a food or 2. It’s doing specific things to heal a very specific thing. Much like you would do things to heal a broken bone or target a certain type of cancer, hashimotos needs to be healed in a specific way.

So that’s what I did. So instead of taking a million supplements and under eating with AIP, I healed my body according to my root cause and inflammation damage. That’s when I lost the 100 lbs, I stopped struggling with fertility, I got off my thyroid meds, and I was able to live again.

Root cause, how to heal, and “is this normal” are things that I answer every single day. Here are 19 of the most common questions I answer and hopefully I don’t sound like a broken record.

Healing is the most common theme. And I think people struggle because they don’t know their root cause, they don’t know how to find it, and they don’t know how to heal their inflammation from their root cause.
