5 things I wouldn’t do as a dietitian 👇
1 - Demonize foods
Food doesn’t have moral value. Fear doesn’t improve health, understanding does.
2 - Chase weight loss at the expense of well-being
If it costs your relationship with food, your energy, or your mental health, it’s too expensive.
3 - Ignore hunger cues “for discipline”
Ignoring your body isn’t discipline. It’s disconnection.
4 - Promise quick fixes
Sustainable change is rarely flashy, but it actually works.
5 - Assume one approach works for everyone
Bodies, histories, cultures, and brains are different. Nutrition should reflect that.
Health is not a punishment.
Food is not a test you pass or fail.
