Why did the Missouri Home Care union send out certified letters to all CDS agencies in the state of Missouri demanding all attendants personal information? Why did they demand that information be supplied in an "easily accessible electronic format?"

We have guarantee that you will sell these employee's information, or use it for your own personal gain. Our employees have not signed releases allowing their information to be shared with you.

Once again they do not understand the state laws and regulations regarding private information. Letters of bullying and intimidation will not work and we will protect our attendants from your lies and mistruths. Certified or not.

Go check out Missouri home care union. Look at how they fail to mention they want $216 per year from every home care worker in order to represent them. Its amazing the facts they leave out when "helping" these aides. Seems to me if they were truly trying to help the aides and workers, they would form a NON-PROFIT organization and fight in the legislature for higher agency reimbursement rates. Perhaps its time to ask the Missouri Home Care Union if their heart is in the right place??

Go to their page. They won't let you ask questions about how much they want charge these workers. They won't answer where the funds will come from to increase the pay. Try to post a comment, if its not to their liking its deleted within 45 seconds. Try it and see. What do you have to hide Missouri Home Care Union? Why won't you let your followers see the facts?

The Missouri Home Care Union is the voice for home care attendants in Missouri. We are a joint local union, combining the strength of the nation’s largest home care unions – AFSCME and SEIU. With a long track record for winning better wages and benefits for workers and protecting hours for consumers, our organization is poised to join with senior and disability allies in our state to improve home care services and ensure seniors and people with disabilities get the quality in-home care they need to maintain their independence.

Does the Missouri Home Care Union understand that reimbursement for services is set by the LAWMAKERS of Missouri, not the agencies. This union is advocating for increased wages however they are not advocating for increased reimbursement from the state of Missouri. This measure if passed will bankrupt the system which will mean less people having access to services.. VOTE AGAINST the Missouri Home Care Union to keep jobs active and vote to keep the elderly and disabled at home by allowing home care agencies to budget appropriately to insure funds reach the most people possible.

Amazing this Missouri Home Care union is asking for $15 per hour for all attendants in the state of Missouri. Apparently they are not telling the attendants the truth. What they bargained for the attendants was between $8.50 per hour and $10.15 per hour. However they are leading you to believe there is possibility of getting $15 per hour to be a care attendant. This means care attendants with no formal training required would be making more money per hour than college prepared Licensed Practical Nurses. It also means agencies would be forced to operate on only 56 cents per hour to cover the employers share of taxes, plus provide a Adult Protective Social Worker II, which is someone with atleast a bachelors degree if not a Masters degree. They fail to account for the telephony charges agencies incur of 50 cents per visit, as well as the payroll software. The good news is if their measure passes, no one will be able to afford the postage to send them their dues. That's right attendants... They want $216 from each of you per year to "represent" you. However their version of representation is to essentially make sure that the CDS program goes away. If the Missouri Home Care Union has their way, no agency in the State of Missouri will be able to afford to take a CDS client because each hour the attendant works will put the agency over $2 in the hole. That doesn't even begin to account for the case management. There won't be staff to process your payroll because there won't be any of the reimbursement money to pay them.

The Missouri Home Care Union is seeking to unionize all home care workers in the state of Missouri. It is our mission to EDUCATE all workers about this scam perpetrated by this union to steal the hard earned wages of the Missouri home care worker. If their legislation passes, all home care workers will be FORCED to pay this "union" $216 per year. It will be an automatic fee forced upon them.

This "Union" wants all home care agencies to pay workers $15 per hour. Let's do the math for the Missouri Home Care Union since they seem to be unable to do so.

The current reimbursement rate for an hour a client receives care is $15.56 per hour. This is the amount the agency gets paid by the state of Missouri. So now we deduct $15 from that $15.56 and we are left with 56 cents per hour. Now, the agency also has to pay the employer part of the taxes. Social security tax 6.2%, medicare tax 1.45%, and Federal unemployment tax of .8%. Then we throw in state unemployment at 3.1%. We now add up all of these taxes and we get 11.55%. So we take that 11.55% times the $15 per hour, and we are now at $1.73 in taxes the employer must pay on top of that $15 per hour wage. Which comes to a total of $16.73.

Granted the individuals at the Missouri Home Care Union have no educational requirements for participation in their program, but basic math shows us that agencies will immediately start going in debt if their measure passes. They have left absolutely no funding to pay for the required Social Workers, Registered Nursing staff, Building and program overhead including payroll software, or even the stamps to send them their union dues.

Please do not let this "union" trick you into giving them your hard earned money. If any of their measures pass, it will put every home care agency out of business and will more than likely shut down home and community based services all together. The agency pays attendants directly based of what is reimbursed from the state minus operating costs.

This union is attacking agencies left and right. They fail to clearly communicate what the reimbursement rate is which is set by your legislature and governor. If you want to be paid more as an attendant then advocate for the increased reimbursement rates. Do not advocate to send agencies underwater so that some union can line their pockets with your hard earned money. They want your dues money. If they truly cared about the disadvantaged or their caregivers they would not ask for dues from the caregiver's wages but instead would ask for better reimbursement rates from the lawmakers.
