Everyday the practice reveals itself to me a little more and everyday it becomes clearer that it simply is - journeying back to the heart space.

The Chandogya Upanishad says: 'In this space within the heart are placed both Heaven and Earth, both Fire and Air, both Sun and Moon, both the Lightning and the Stars. Whatever is here and whatever is not here, all that is, rests within it.' - VIII.1.3
.........................

'- VIII.1.3

For the next time you practice the tree pose or vrskasana, here is some invaluable insight from Herman Hesse's staggeringly beautiful Love letter to trees:

'For me, trees have always been the most penetrating preachers. I revere them when they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand alone. They are like lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like Beethoven and Nietzsche. In their highest boughs the world rustles, their roots rest in infinity; but they do not lose themselves there, they struggle with all the force of their lives for one thing only: to fulfill themselves according to their own laws, to build up their own form, to represent themselves. Nothing is holier, nothing is more exemplary than a beautiful, strong tree. When a tree is cut down and reveals its naked death-wound to the sun, one can read its whole history in the luminous, inscribed disk of its trunk: in the rings of its years, its scars, all the struggle, all the suffering, all the sickness, all the happiness and prosperity stand truly written, the narrow years and the luxurious years, the attacks withstood, the storms endured. And every young farmboy knows that the hardest and noblest wood has the narrowest rings, that high on the mountains and in continuing danger the most indestructible, the strongest, the ideal trees grow.

Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life.

A tree says: A kernel is hidden in me, a spark, a thought, I am life from eternal life. The attempt and the risk that the eternal mother took with me is unique, unique the form and veins of my skin, unique the smallest play of leaves in my branches and the smallest scar on my bark. I was made to form and reveal the eternal in my smallest special detail.

A tree says: My strength is trust. I know nothing about my fathers, I know nothing about the thousand children that every year spring out of me. I live out the secret of my seed to the very end, and I care for nothing else. I trust that God is in me. I trust that my labor is holy. Out of this trust I live.

When we are stricken and cannot bear our lives any longer, then a tree has something to say to us: Be still! Be still! Look at me! Life is not easy, life is not difficult. Those are childish thoughts… Home is neither here nor there. Home is within you, or home is nowhere at all.

A longing to wander tears my heart when I hear trees rustling in the wind at evening. If one listens to them silently for a long time, this longing reveals its kernel, its meaning. It is not so much a matter of escaping from one’s suffering, though it may seem to be so. It is a longing for home, for a memory of the mother, for new metaphors for life. It leads home. Every path leads homeward, every step is birth, every step is death, every grave is mother.

So the tree rustles in the evening, when we stand uneasy before our own childish thoughts: Trees have long thoughts, long-breathing and restful, just as they have longer lives than ours. They are wiser than we are, as long as we do not listen to them. But when we have learned how to listen to trees, then the brevity and the quickness and the childlike hastiness of our thoughts achieve an incomparable joy. Whoever has learned how to listen to trees no longer wants to be a tree. He wants to be nothing except what he is. That is home. That is happiness.'

||Guru'r Brahma
Guru'r Vishnu
Guru'r Devo Maheshwaraha
Guru'r sakshaat para Brahma tasmai shree,
Gurave Namaha ☆

The Guru doesn't necessarily have to be in human form. As we hone our receptivity, we should be able to tap into the teachings that every experience, trees, rivers, the wind, the rain, the sky hold out to us. As we move deeper in our practice and develop our intuition the Guru within our own beings becomes more and more apparent.
May we be blessed to find those teachers that lead us back to ourselves. I feel immensely blessed to have found mine.

Guru Purnima wishes and blessings to everybody on the path.

It's been over two months of isolation.
El Gran descanso or The Great Pause is the phrase that keeps coming to mind and apt for this time.
Pictures, more than words have found themselves out of me in this period as I spend the most intimate time I have ever spent with myself. Filtering out the unecessary, binding extras and just aligning with the bare essential. Going into depths like never before. The good, the bad, the ugly, the subtle, the beautiful, the difficult and the most fantastic. As I have cried tears, so have I held an overwhelming gladness in my heart, previously unknown. Like some rites de passage: Of this, seems to be emerging a powerful bond between Me and I as we traverse this human experience. We, it seems are in it together till the end!

I have mulled over this post for so long now and never wrote it down as thoughts morphed into one another. Today I found these words by Tich Nhat Hnah that rung in my heart:
:
: " Go back and take care of yourself. Your body needs you, your feelings need you, your perceptions need you, your suffering needs you to acknowledge it. Go home, and be there for all these things." °
°
El Gran Descanso - the time to be home with Yourself.

Love,
T.

What is yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra has its origin in the ancient Ta***ic practice of Nyasa. It is the form of a long guided meditation/relaxation and is one of the practices of pratyahara where the awareness is internalized. Literally, yoga nidra means 'psychic sleep' i.e. sleep with full awareness. In the practice of yoga nidra the body sleeps but the mind remains awake listening to the instructions. The state achieved in yoga nidra is termed the hypnogogic state in psychology, a state between sleep and wakefulness. Through the practice of yoga nidra, we are able to release stress and tension, calm anxiety, relax into a state of deep restfunless, enhance creativity and connect to our true essence.

This practice is accessible to everyone as it is done lying down on the floor in savasana or the co**se pose. The only requirement is to to be still, undisturbed and committed to the practice for 45 minutes.. 21.30 India, 12.00 New York, 18.00 Barcelona

Mother, I was seven when I first professed my willingness to be a martyr if it meant keeping you from harm. No one understood me then, some were even shocked. But I know you did. You always do.

In you I have found the greatest beauty of all,
In you I have found the most restful peace,
In you I have found the most comforting caress,
In you I have found the deepest love,
In you I have found the highest wisdom,
From you I understood who I really am.

It was just a question of connecting.
I wonder when came the disconnect.

I am sorry that as your spoilt children we go about living our selfish lives as if we were independent and indestructible.. Forgetting to respect, to share and be kind to the rest of our siblings. We take you for granted, scar you, exploit you.
Yet you look indulgently on.

And when you finally decide to teach us all a lesson, it comes well deserved.
For it can only be with the unquestionable intention of a mother towards her child.

I accept.
With open arms, I surrender
and with a glad heart dissolve back into you.
So you may thrive, flourish and prosper.
So will I. For I am not separate from you.

I never was.

Thank you
For getting me involved in this beautiful initiative by . A tree gets planted for each letter.
