HE RONGOĀ TENEI 🌱THE GIFT OF 🌳"PRESENCE"..

Before you get fully caught up in the Christmas whirlwind…buying presents..that let's be honest!!! no one really needs! Ask yourself.. Could you give a little more this year? Something that doesn’t cost anything... just your time, your presence...your ARO-HĀ...

I know there are a lot of people struggling right now...They just need someone to be there with them, fully present. Not brushing past. Not trying to fix anything. Just sitting with them where they are.

Friends. Whānau. Work colleagues...Real, meaningful conversation is what's needed whānau! Real life connection.. beyond the surface layers..

The gift of presence...of truly being there for someone. is quite often overlooked, yet its value is priceless. To be seen. To be heard. To feel understood = to be valued!

That gift can change a day… even a life.

Make space e te whānau. Who in your AO needs the gift of presence right now?

Xx

2-DAY LEVEL 1
FOUNDATIONAL WAANANGA IN ROMIROMI
10TH 11TH JANUARY 2026

To add to the kete of taonga, I am deeply grateful to have Ruatau Perez & Esha Tahapeehi from
Te Arateatea Traditional Maori Healing come up from Ōtautahi, to tautoko our kaupapa -
TE RANGAPŪ WHAKAORA, and to support the expansion of our Wairarapa Mirimiri Romiromi practitioners.

Ruatau is a long-time tauira of the late Papa Hohepa Delamere, carrying many of the ancient teachings- Te Whare Wānanga in Rongoā, Mirimiri and Romiromi. Ruatau has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of these traditional taonga, supporting tauira from around the world to learn the powerful art of Traditional Māori healing.

In this wānanga, you will learn an ancient takutaku passed down by Papa Hohepa, as well as the foundational principles of Romiromi.
This is a powerful entry point into the esoteric wisdom that Papa entrusted to those who continue this mahi.

Wairarapa practitioners will have first priority as we continue to grow the rōpū of Te Rangapū Whakaora.

Spaces are limited- so if you feel the call and everything aligns ✨️.. register your interest ASAP x

WHEN THE KAUPAPA IS GREATER..You will always find a way to push through.

This is the whakaaro that came through the moment I first stepped into the doorway of Mirimiri Romiromi, and it has carried me into spaces I never imagined myself walking.

I am so grateful for the Wānanga this year. It has been absolutely huge. To be honest, landing this week, coming out of the final Wānanga of the year.. has felt like a deep breath of fresh air. I feel grounded again, present on the whenua in a way I haven’t felt for a long time.

Birthing Te Ara Whakaora and Te Rangapū Whakaora has been such a beautiful experience, and I’m incredibly grateful for these spaces.
What I’ve realised through Te Ara Whakaora is just how deeply this mahi is needed… for our people, for our wāhine.

Reconnecting tangata whenua... back their whenua.
Back to te taiao.. our own healing ground, the space in which we havd always belonged.

Te Ara Whakaora is a deep Wānanga to reconnect back to self- to remember the tools in our kete.. passed down by the women that came before us.
Back to our rākau, our tuakana that stand beside us.
Taking a moment to feel, to listen, to tune into our own breath…our own wairua ..our own mauri..our own space and time.

It has been magic observing the mauri of Te Ara Whakaora ignite.. Te Ara Whakaora has her own energy.. cleansing the waters of our spirit.. our whakapapa..our wairua.

To be honest I just had to plant the seed and allow her to grow...she took form as it was needed.

Te Rangapū Whakaora has been a massive expansion of myself and my own Waananga. Honestly, I didn’t see it coming this year, but I was clearly being led into this space… and like I say. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED …READY OR NOT!

Why?
Because our people need healing...and there is much mahi to do! At the moment there is not enough practitioners to serve the need of our people here in the Wairarapa- and I need tautoko.

To put it plainly...

I do not whakapapa to this rōhē, but I know I am deeply connected to this whenua, to this landscape, to the people.. tangata whenua and all those who have chosen the Wairarapa as a place to belong..

Te Rangapū Whakaora was never to be taken lightly.. believe me when I say.. I had to walk through my own shadows..my own s**t show to get here..
To believe that I could hold this Waananga.. and I had everything within me that I needed to create this space. This Waananga was birthed from me ... and is and will always be held with the absolute AROHA. MANA AND INTIGRITY...Mirimiri deserves. Not only to uphold the mana of the mahi but to uphold the mana of our Atua.. of our taiAo and of our tūpuna that continued to carry the energy of Mirimiri and Romiromi RONGOĀ MAORI within them... for us to ignite it today!

Te Rangapū Whakaora is an expression of my aroha to the Wairarapa: a space to support a rōpū of heart-led, Wairarapa-bound practitioners to tautoko the needs of our people here through the lens of Te Ao Māori- through the heart-centred Wānanga of Mirimiri.
Opening space for healers to access their innate tohungatanga - the innate wisdom that has been passed down by the healers that have come before them.

What I know is this:
Rongoā Māori and Mirimiri are needed in all four corners of our whare.. including the whenua we walk upon..
It is a powerful pathway back to trust, to letting go, to releasing what holds us back. To stepping into our full expression of self...unapologetically.

I am incredibly proud of everyone who stepped into this space.. whether you stayed or not. It takes deep courage to walk into the unknown, especially into a Wānanga of Mirimiri & Romiromi, a Wānanga to agitate and stimulate your very system. To peel bavk the layers that have kept you safe. Whether you realised it or not, this was never just a practitioner training. It is a Mirimiri for your soul, your wairua.. a remembering of who you are. A calling to trust yourself and release the limits of the mind...knowing that this is the only thing that can hold you hostage.

When I first stepped into Te Rangapū Whakaora, I had only created the foundations. The rest has all been wairua-led..shaped by my own Wānanga, my own experiences, my own 20-plus years of doing the mahi and choosing to walk through the fire required to get here.
Every kōrero, every challenge, every battle has been an opportunity for me to Wānanga, to learn and to grow.

Remembering it is a continual cycle...each time we enter Wānanga, we have the potential to further deepen our connection to ourself, to others and to the world around us.

I am so grateful to all of my kaiako along the way. Each of them has woven their wisdom into my kete, offering space for growth and new understanding. Even when the lessons felt harsh- and at times didn't make not alot of sense..to be honest!😂🤔.. they have all made me who I am today.

To Papa Hohepa Delamere — HE TANGATA HE TANGATA HE TANGATA. I know this was your vision. ♡..thank you for your Waananga! You have expanded my mind to limits I still cant grasp! 💜 but I understand that not everything ( lesson) needs to be understood..Just knowing it exists...is enough!

To the Great Grandmothers, the Aunties who back me in all my movements...I love your guidance and your aroha. I am humbled every time you send your mokopuna my way. It is an honour I carry always. Thank you for your unconditional love, support, wisdom, and understanding.

Ruatau Perez ! Ngā mihi e hoa! I appreciate your tautoko to support me to bring this Waananga forth..It feels good to align to greater kaupapa- where we are all here to uplift and support others within this space. I appreciate you and the Waananga you hold! X

To everyone that has supported me throughout my Waananga to uplift and encourage me on this kaupapa! I know who you and I am so grateful to have you walk alongside side me.

To Tū Ora Compass Health ! Ngā mihi kia koutou! For the financial support to bring this kaupapa forward! To offer space under full scholarship to my tauira was a an absolute blessing. And for you to see the wider kaupapa... of uplifting our Wairarapa pracitioners to tautoko our community. I am eternally grateful.

To Te Waka iti and our community! Thank you for giving us space in the whare.. Te Aroha o te Tangata! I couldn't have ask for a better or more more perfect space to open these Waananga. The aroha that you have embude in to this whenua e te whānau.. for all people to feel they belong here ..can be felt.

And lastly xx to my darlings Brenden Saayman Kaya Tawharu-Saayman Shayden Shayden Thank you walking this path with me! At times I know it has not been easy but I could not have done any of this. without your absolute unconditional support and aroha! When the kaupapa is greater than yourself! I do it all for you and for our mokopuna x

TE RANGAPŪ WHAKAORA..
A weaving of collective strengths...

A call for all healers to take their place.
To find the potential within.
To access their tūpuna and their purpose.
To trust themselves, believing they already hold the keys to unlock the wisdom within.

I am so proud of you all, e te whānau.
Remember.. you walked through the fire too.

And here we are..us Rongoā practitioners. Healers..
Working quietly behind the scenes of a world that feels like its in chaos.

Chipping away, one tangata at a time..healing wairua, restoring mauri, helping people to come home to themselves..Giving back their authority..over their choices, their actions, their behaviours..their path

While everything around us looks like its crumbling..we're still here.
Steady. Humble. Present.

Doing the mahi..that can't always been seen but is always felt.. like a subtle wave....clearing pathways.

Heal one person..
To heal the whānau..
To heal the whakapapa.

Restoring harmony and balance..

And little by little, one by one.. we all walk free x

So proud to walk alongside these Manawa Hine through Te Ara Whakaora

This journey has taught me alot..
Mostly, that the path is so unexpected… life can shift in a single moment, a single breath.

Even though we’ve held much heartache in this space, I honour the wāhine who stayed grounded here.. committed to their kaupapa, to their intention for being here, to their own becoming.

To our whānau that couldn't be here this weekend but have journeyed along with us.. you were in our hearts.💚💚

I absolutely love witnessing the shifts that unfold within this space… the deepening connection to the whenua, to te taiao, to Rongoā Māori, to each other..but ultimately to themselves.
Rongoā Māori is so much more than a practice of making pani and tinctures. It is a way of living. A way of being. A way of being present. Uplifting the mana and mauri of our people.

Ngā mihi nui, e ngā Manawa Hine.
I am so proud of you all and so honoured to hold this space with you. x

Suzie Blue!!! Thank you my friend for holding this space with me with such aroha ! Manaaki Mama you are one in a million 💜🤍

Kintsugi-" The fractured light of being"
Esther Bunning

Back in May 2022, I jumped at the opportunity to bear all when Esther Bunning, photographer, creator, artist, storyteller, invited me to be part of an exhibition inspired by the philosophy of Kintsugi: the art that teaches us our cracks do not define us. Instead, if we learn to grow through the cracks, to refine our imperfections, our flaws, we indeed reveal the masterpiece within.

My journey has been about embracing all the parts of myself that once felt broken, hurt, betrayed, silenced, shamed, weak, wrong. Especially in a world fractured through the distorted lens of societal “norms,” shaped by man-made structures designed to break us, control us, feed our fear. Especially as wāhine...

Through colonisation, the schooling system, religious constraints, and power plays, the wāhine...in all her beauty..was lead to believe she was too much, not enough.

I’ve always said, my home is where I lay my hat. Disconnected from my homeland and people, I’ve never truly known what it means to belong. I still can’t say I’m fully there… but my journey through Rongoā Māori has given me a new sense of what it means to belong...to the whenua, to te taiao, and to self. I’ve found that my tūrangawaewae lives within me.

Rongoā Māori has led me back to the whenua, back to te taiao.. back to reclaiming myself. My true self.

It’s a journey. Just as te taiao moves, I move too. It doesn't always feel perfect, but I’m learning to redefine perfection.. To navigate the ever-changing currents of life, to embrace them instead of resisting the natural flow.

I am the Rongoā for my whānau... I am the tūrangawaewae for my children.. my mokopuna.

No one can tell you who are, and what you should be or whether you are enough! Only you can define that..

Ngā mihi nui e Mareikura Esther Bunning
Thank you so much for being the light and for bringing the light to so many who share their stories with you. Thank you for holding those stories with such care and aroha.

To the 10 wāhine that joined me on this journey, sharing your stories of courage, embracing strength and vulnerability, I honour you x 💜🤍

16 years as an Intuitive Healer, Massage Practioner and Bodyworker..

Nau Mai Haere Mai

I’m glad you have made it on to my page. For whatever reason, something has guided you here, whether your body is screaming at you for some bodywork, or your inquisitive nature is asking“ What is Traditional Maori Healing? or maybe you have heard about the magic of Two Hands and you thought you would head in and check it out.

Whatever has led you here, I encourage you to listen in to your body and trust that you have been brought here for a reason.

Traditional Maori healing in the form of MiriMiri and RomiRomi can be a deeply spiritual experience. In their own unique way, they both aim to agitate and stimulate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers to release rooted tension stored in the cellular memory of the body. It is not a one size fits all approach to healing as each session is intuitively led, guided by what your body needs on the day.
