What's your biggest health goal right now?

Dropping some pounds, finding zen, or moving better?

I am running myself through my 21 Day Wellness Reset after being reminded by an amazing client recently that we all need a little reset from time to time to bring us back on track.

3 Myths About Pelvic Health During Pregnancy

Pelvic health is key to a confident, comfortable pregnancy, but myths can hold you back from feeling your best.

I’m here to set the record straight with evidence-based insights.

Let’s debunk 3 common myths!

Myth 1: Pelvic Pain is Just “Normal” in Pregnancy

Truth: Persistent pelvic pain, like pelvic girdle pain, isn’t something you have to endure. Gentle, targeted exercises can reduce pain by 30-50%, according to a 2020 study in Physical Therapy. Safe yoga and Pilates movements can strengthen and stabilize your pelvis. [Read more: https://academic.oup.com/ptj/article/100/10/1687/5873961]

Myth 2: Kegels Fix Everything

Truth: Overdoing Kegels can tighten an already tense pelvic floor, worsening issues like incontinence. A 2021 review in International Urogynecology Journal found balanced pelvic floor training (strengthening + relaxation) is 40% more effective.

Myth 3: Exercise Harms the Pelvic Floor in Pregnancy

Truth: Safe, guided exercise strengthens the pelvic floor and core, reducing risks like leakage. A 2019 study in British Journal of Sports Medicine showed prenatal yoga and Pilates improve pelvic stability by 25-35%.

Slow Flow Yoga returns to Hixon Memorial Hall tomorrow morning!

Wow, where has the summer gone? Does anyone else feel like it has flown by in a flash?

Good news is, my classes will be starting up again - with a few changes so keep an eye out for announcements.

SLOW FLOW YOGA @ Hixon Memorial Hall 9.30am - 10.30am.

This class is structured so there is not a lot of getting up and down off the floor, but still getting the benefits of a full yoga flow that is themed each week.

We start seated in chair for a warm up, move into standing flow, then onto the floor in kneeling, then seated.

Finished off by getting cosy under blankets for an extended guided relaxation. Bliss.

The class is £7 per class but you can purchase a 4 X Class Pass to reduce costs.

September price for the class pass is £20 but increases to £24 in October. Great incentive to come along and try for a fantastic price.
