I see it all the time. We are bombarded with information, yet paralyzed to take action. We’re drowning in information, yet starving for truth. We see experts left and right citing research, yet does this research hold wisdom?

So we sit. And do nothing.

For me, it was sitting and not doing my morning to-do list. For others, it’s taking action towards healthier living.

Wisdom, action, and implementation come from finding trust in who you consume from, learn from, and spend time listening to. Choose wisely, friends. ✨

Let’s talk about 💩

Do you 💩 daily? If not, you could be setting yourself up for a lot of gut, toxin, inflammatory, and health issues.

Let that 💩 go!

My top three tips?
1. Hydrate. Deep cellular hydration. Just because you drink water doesn’t mean your cells are hydrated.
2. Move. Sitting is in the new smoking. Move regularly and often.
3. Relax. Reduce stress. Activate parasympathetic.

I woke up in the middle of the night with the dreaded tickle in the throat. A couple hours later that tickle turned into pain, and by the time I was up for the day, I was congested, tired, and my lungs hurt. 🤧

Not to panic I thought - I have all the tools. 🙌🏼

1. Red light + lymph work upon awakening. I also worked on lymph several times throughout the day when I thought of it (without red light).

2. Hydration, hydration, hydration. Hydrate with filtered water + minerals. I like BEAM microboost.

3. Rest as much as possible. Legs up the wall between meetings. Gentle walk instead of a planned workout. Slower movements throughout the day to keep stress & cortisol down.

4. Immuplex + Antronex. Immuplex is like a multivitamin for your immune system. Antronex helps with drainage. Without drainage, pathogens (and toxins!) linger. Don’t take immune support without drainage if you want to actually recover quickly.

5. Socks! How easy is that?! Cold feet = less blood flow and circulation throughout the body. We need blood circulating to deliver immune cells, nutrients and oxygen to sites of infection.

Bonus: loose clothes to allow lymph to flow. 👏🏼

My last tip: remove the fear of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. I have learned to remove fear when getting sick, and instead, trust my body and trust my immune system. This didn’t happen overnight and took a lot of NLP work. I’m so grateful for my NLP coach. 🙌🏼

Getting sick isn’t a bad thing. It’s how quickly you recover and how often you get sick that will give you clues about your health. Trust your body, peeps! ♥️

After going down a rabbit hole of which at home cleaning solution is best for the removal of pesticides and heavy metals, the results shocked me. 🤯

Turns out, depending on the type of toxin and type of produce, at home solutions will work differently. 🤔

Here’s the scoop:
-baking soda is best for water soluble pesticides
-white vinegar is best for fat soluble pesticides and heavy metals
-salt is less effective than baking soda, but can remove some pesticides
-various combinations may enhance removal, but its marginal

What I’ve concluded:
1. Start by soaking produce in baking soda for 10-15 minutes.
2. Rinse with water.
3. Spray/rinse with white vinegar.
4. Rinse with water.
5. Pat dry and store.

This is an extra step that goes a long way - even with organic foods. Organic does not mean heavy metal free. 🫣

Consider this as part of your grocery shopping and meal prep. Your body & detox pathways will thank you. 🤓

Underrated wellness tip from a functional nutritionist: eat seasonally and eat locally. 🤓

Your microbiome, which affects your gut health, is greatly influenced not only by what you eat, but where your food was grown. If your food was grown at a specific time, it will affect the composition of the food. For example, foods grown in winter will have different nutrients than foods grown in summer (think berries in summer and squash in winter). ☀️

The fiber content, polyphenols, and overall nutrients will vary season to season, and this has a huge impact and how your microbiome responds to the food. 🤯

When you eat seasonally, the food you eat will increase short chain fatty acid production. This helps with inflammation and metabolic health. AKA more energy, a better mood, and easier weight management. 🙌🏼

Let’s go show our local farmers some love. Food as medicine. ♥️

I spent 1.5 hours breathing in toxic fumes as I was waiting for my new tires to be put on my car. ☠️

As I was waiting I could feel my heart rate increase and my breathing was feeling more challenging.

This is the reality of acute toxic exposures that many of us deal with day in and day out.

It’s the acute exposures that turn into chronic build up of toxins. It’s the chronic build up of toxins that turn into insulin resistance, weight loss resistance, autoimmunity, hormonal imbalance, chronic disease, and even cancer.

Situations like these are why we need to have healthy detox pathways. 🙃

So as soon I got home, I gave my pathways some love. And here’s what I did:

1. Manual lymphatic drainage techniques starting at clavicles.
2. Deep, diaphragmatic belly breaths to allow my lungs to clean out the toxins, and allow my liver physical space to detox any toxins that made their way into my bloodstream (which then goes into the liver).

We purchase high quality food, high quality material items, high quality supplements - why not “purchase” high quality thoughts?

The more you think negative thoughts, the more you will see a negative life. Negative thoughts look for problems - positive thoughts look for solutions.

It wasn’t until I’ve learned about the power of thoughts affecting our biology that I’ve felt confident and in control of my health (physical, mental and emotional). When I learned to change the thoughts about my body failing me, I found solutions to getting my body back in balance so much quicker and easier.

The most important thing that comes to your health is paying attention to what is going on in that mind of yours. If you are not mindful of that voice in your head, negative thought will dominate. I’m hungry. I’m bored. I’m stressed. I’m tired. This is part of our survival.

But you can change those thoughts. You can change your brain cells. You can heal your brain. You have the power and choice to do this. This is called neuroplasticity.

Neuroplasticity, the ability to change your brain, reflects your current environment.

If your environment is filled with busyness or stress, your brain will continue to rewire with busyness and stress.

If your environment is filled with calmness, peace, happiness, your brain will continue to rewire with calmness, peace, and happiness.

You get to choose.
You get to choose how you start your day.
You get to choose how intentional you want to be with your health.
You get to choose the words you speak and the thoughts you think.

You may not get to control everything or everyone around you, but you can choose how you show up in this world. ♥️
