The Warming Center is open for the night / day / night.

Reminder that we have The SHOP staffed with enough volunteers to keep everyone safe and warm until the roads are safe again.

Thanks the The Neighborhood SHOP—Showers + Healthcare Outreach Program, the City of Charleston, WV, Jill Swigger, United Way of Central WV, The City of Charleston CARES Team, Bible Center Church, Elizabeth Memorial, Oakwood Baptist, First Presbyterian Church Charleston, WV, and Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church and the countless individuals who put in the work to make this happen.

⚠️COLD ALERT⚠️
The Neighborhood SHOP—Showers + Healthcare Outreach Program will be operating a warming center tonight, located at 319 W. Washington St in Charleston.
❄️ This weekend's weather is anticipated to be exceptionally cold and snowy. Follow the Kanawha Valley Collective page for future updates on warming center openings and hours.

Edit to add days: Warming Centers will be open Monday and Tuesday nights, Janaury 19&20. CAT Office will open at 7am on Tuesday and Wednesday

And as a reminder - Warming Centers are for ANYONE who needs a warm place to be. If you are experiencing homelessness, or if you just need a warm place for any reason, come see us. We are going to ask you your name (we want to call you something), and if there is anything we can help you with besides a warm place to be.
Secondly, people are allowed to come and go at the warming center. People do not need to be there when it opens, and it is not mandatory that someone stays all night.
Everyone involved with the planning, implementation, services, and funding of the warming centers just want everyone to remain safe.

Please join us in welcoming Kayla Roe, PMHNP-BC, the newest provider at Cabin Creek Health Systems! Kayla Roe, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, joins our behavioral health team at the Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Program at CCHS Westside Health, supporting patients through integrated addiction and psychiatric care.
In addition to her clinical work at CCHS, Kayla serves as an Assistant Professor at the Marshall University School of Nursing, where she helps prepare the next generation of nurses and stays closely engaged with current evidence-based practices in psychiatric and addiction care.
