The Vision
The term ‘studio’ refers to a place of study, in particular, the study of the arts. My mission is to support you in building this studio in your life, as you develop the art of meditation and in doing so nourish your body, mind and spirit.
My journey into meditation began a long time ago, yet it wasn’t until a chance collision propelled me into my healing journey that I noticed its true power. Meditation and breath centred meditation allowed me to reconnect with myself, in a time when I felt disconnected to many aspects of the life I had once known.
Breath is a powerful gift, that when embraced effectively can change you physically, emotionally and energetically. I found that breath gave me peace, it quietened the mind and allowed my energy to reset and restore. Breath settles and eases distress in the body. Deep belly breathing resets our over stimulated nervous system and takes us out of the fight and flight response. Deep belly breathing nourishes the body, oxygenates the organs and promotes optimal health by supporting the natural function of the organs. When we breathe well, our digestive system and brain thank us.
As a teacher and wellbeing leader, I have been an advocate for breath centred meditation and self-care practices for several years now and have passed this knowledge onto the young people in my care for over 7 years. Many young people in High School have come to seek me out and let me know the benefits they have experienced through the meditation practices they have learnt. These young people have taken the learning into their lives in order to reduce stress and anxiety, promote quality sleep, deepen their spirituality and others use the tool to self-regulate their emotions in times of crisis, turmoil or challenge.
