Every year, 14 November is dedicated to World Diabetes Day (WDD). Led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), WDD was created in 1991 by IDF and World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.

It is the primary global awareness campaign focusing on diabetes mellitus. The theme for this year is The Nurse and Diabetes.

To join the global celebration of this event, Smilebuilders Initiative, a NCD focused NGO will be organizing a Webinar on zoom on Friday, November 13, 2020 by 4:30pm to sensitize people on the disease.

Alongside two other speakers, our founder has been invited to speak on the sub-theme Diabetes Mellitus and healthy food choices: Any correlation?

Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

With the excesses of SARS and many other government institutions created to protect and serve the citizens but doing otherwise, we can have no mental health. Have we ever had in a country where there is bad governance so much that even the blind can feel it and the deaf can hear it.

The Life Champ Board Game: The Journey so far from idea conception to market.

It was fulfilling to premiere this documentary at the just concluded Nutrition and Wellness Summit especially with the launch of the public health versions which contains extended game packs covering Infectious Diseases (COVID-19, Ebola...), HIV/AIDS, Sexual & Reproductive Health and Malaria.

The Nutrition and Wellness Summit, a first of its kind on this side of the globe was a huge success and we are grateful to all the speakers, panellists and participants.

We took the whole of yesterday to send thank you e-cards to the speakers because without them, it wasn't going to happen.

We also appreciate all volunteers who helped in various capacities and everyone who participated.

I especially want to thank the team who helped pull this off and everyone who jumped on the team in practice

All in all, the summit confirmed one thing.

No one has to die from a preventable and reversible disease. You have a choice. You have always had.
