I’m feeling deeply grateful today. Yesterday Julie Watkins brought a $10,000 gift to Wellspring to seed our new endowment fund, and I’m still taking in what that generosity truly means. This gift is more than a contribution. It is an expression of trust, belief, and hope for the future of our work.

Over the past year, the Dennis and Julia Watkins Foundation has also supported Wellspring through a contribution to our Annual Race for Recovery and a gift that provides stipends for our Social Work Interns. Together, these acts of generosity reflect a deep and thoughtful commitment to both the care we provide today and the sustainability of that care into the future.

Julie’s faith in Wellspring and in our mission to care for individuals and families affected by substance use disorder touches me profoundly. At a time when the need is great and the path forward can feel uncertain, her generosity reminds us that this work matters and that our community believes in it.
