The IDAK–KDD Football and Freekick Championship 2025 held at Argan Bedaya, Sabah Salem, was a resounding success, owing to the seamless coordination and enthusiasm of the IDAK Sports Committee comprising Dr. Eldho George (Chair) , Dr. Renjit George (Co-chair), Dr. Anjana Nair, .nair.12 , Dr. Varsha Manmohanan, Dr. Abraham Thomas and Dr. Sharon Thomas. .sharonjthomas

⚽ A Grand Kick-Off
The event was inaugurated by IDAK President Dr. George P. Alex, in the distinguished presence of Mr. Anand Kumar Harith, Manager–Business Systems representing KDD, the main event sponsor, and Al Mulla Exchange, the official remittance partner. Their presence and support reflect the strong partnership and shared commitment to community well-being and sporting excellence.

The games were professionally officiated by Mr. Sunil, Mr. Rakesh, and Mr. Shine, ensuring fair play and a smooth flow of competition throughout the event.

The Football Championship saw the Green Dragons emerge as the undisputed champions, displaying power-packed coordination and team spirit, while the Red Raptors claimed the runners-up position with commendable grit and determination.

In the Freekick Championship, the competition was fierce and evenly matched, culminating in a spectacular tie between the Blue Phoenixes and Green Dragons, both showcasing precision, focus, and flair. The Red Raptors once again stood tall as runners-up.
Best Female Player : Mrs. Shasmija Asheel .

On behalf of the Sports Committee, Dr. Eldho congratulated all participants for their energy and enthusiasm, with special appreciation to the team captains — Dr. Ashwin, Dr. Remya, Dr. Rupesh, Dr. Ranjitha, Dr. Joe, and Dr. Jyothy — whose leadership and motivation brought out the best in their teams.

IDAK Successfully Conducts 4th Activity Club With Digital Art and Movie Club.

KUWAIT CITY – October 31, 2025 – The Indian Dentists’ Alliance in Kuwait (IDAK) successfully hosted its 4th IDAK Activity Club, offering a dual experience of creativity and classic cinema at Hotel Park Avenues on Thursday. The event, supported by Al Mulla Exchange Company , featured parallel sessions to cater to diverse interests within the community.

In one session, a Digital Drawing Workshop, organized by the IDAK News & Media Committee in partnership with ‘A Thing Of Beauty’ (ATOB) Creative Studio, provided a creative outlet. With the founder of ATOB, Mrs. Aswathi D. Meppilly , as the lead instructor, participants immersed themselves in the world of digital art, learning new skills and creating their own works.

Running concurrently was the IDAK Movie Club, which celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the iconic Hindi film Sholay. Attendees of this session enjoyed an engaging discussion on its artistic nuances and enduring legacy.

The IDAK Activity Club was formally inaugurated by IDAK President, Dr. George P. Alex .georgealex , who stated that IDAK is providing a platform for members to either learn a new digital skill or reconnect with a cinematic masterpiece, reinforcing its role in building a vibrant and multifaceted community. Dr. Bankima Malhotra, Chair of the News & Media Committee, welcomed the gathered participants and introduced the instructor of the workshop.

Concluding the successful evening, IDAK Vice President Dr. Roshila George delivered a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of organizers Dr. Jijan Sam Thomas. .sam , Dr. Santosh C. Varghese , Dr. Jyothy Kuriakose , and Dr. Ranjitha R. S., along with all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes.

The IDAK Cricket Team participated in the Qatar Healthcare Cricket Cup 2025 and returned with a *top 4* finish in the tournament, which saw 10 teams from different countries representing different healthcare organisations from the GCC and India.

Sponsored by Grand Hyper and led by Captain Dr. Mohammad Hussain and Vice Captain Dr. Rahul Puthalath, the IDAK team qualified for the semi-finals as the top team in the league phase. Playing their 3rd match within a short span of 18 hours, the IDAK team fought valiantly against the eventual Champions, the Qatar Doctors Cricket Club, and lost narrowly in the semi-finals.

IDAK is proud of our men who represented all of us at an international stage against all odds and came back with the *Fair Play Award, Best Participating Team Award, Best Fielder Award, and two Man of the Match* awards in the three games they played.

A special word of appreciation to Captain Dr. Mohammad Hussain, who led the team from the front and hit a classy half-century in the second league game. Vice Captain Dr. Rahul Puthalath ably assisted him and bowled magnificently, including a 4-wicket burst in the league phase. Kudos to Nithin Sam Varghese .remya for his all-round performance in the tournament and for winning the Man of the Match award in the league phase. Syam Madhusudan gave the much-needed impetus in the opening match, bagging 5 wickets and collected the Man of the Match award. Dr. Shabaz was brilliant with the gloves throughout the tournament and bagged the Best Fielder of the Tournament award.

IDAK also thanks our Joint Secretary Dr. Asheel Mohammad, who solicited the financial support from Grand Hyper, and Dr. Ashwin Sudesh who liaised on behalf of the team.

Thank you to all the players, spouses, families, and the entire IDAK family for supporting our team and showing true spirit in victory as well as in loss, and for keeping the IDAK flag flying high at all times. *Jai IDAK!!!*
