  • What is Adenomyosis

What is Adenomyosis Adenomyosis is an irregularity of glands in muscle tissue of the uterus. This community is to bring together those who have the disease and their families.

Adeno... what? Adenomyosis is a condition in which the endometrium (lining of the uterus) breaks through the myometrium (muscular wall of the uterus). It can cause abdominal cramps, pressure, bloating, lower back and leg pain, heavy periods, among other symptoms. Though adenomyosis is considered a benign (not life-threatening) condition, the symptoms associated with it can have a negative impact on a woman's quality of life. Not enough is known about this disease - frequently we hear of women who had never heard of the disease until their suspected diagnosis. We want to raise awareness, and help those diagnosed with the best information and support.
