Birth Restored offers Christian-based childbirth education for parents. As well as doula and childbirth educator certification programs.

Akasha Hines is a doula and childbirth educator. She is passionate about educating and empowering women to have their best birth. Her childbirth course, RENEGADE BIRTH, stands on God's truth and the most current evidence based practice to eliminate fear in birth and create a more comfortable and satisfying birth experience. She also brings along her unique Christian perspective to birth as she supports her doula clients.

Study after study keeps saying the same thing: childbirth education changes outcomes.

📊 A 2017 study found women who took classes had:
➡️ 75% normal vaginal births (vs. 64%)
➡️ Half the rate of vacuum extractions
➡️ Drastically fewer C-sections from failed induction (3% vs. 24%)

📚 Another large analysis of 2,800+ women found education, especially 3+ sessions, lowered cesarean risk and increased shared decision-making.

And a 2024 meta-analysis of 17 studies showed childbirth education increased spontaneous labor and vaginal births while decreasing planned cesareans.

The evidence is clear:
When women are informed, outcomes improve.
When they understand their bodies, interventions drop.
When they’re educated, they birth differently.

You may have read the recent New York Times article about continuous fetal monitoring leading to unnecessary C-sections.

At Birth Restored, this isn’t new information. Our educators have been preparing educators and doulas to teach this evidence-based truth for a while now.

For too long, Christian women passionate about birth have felt like they have to choose: either get certified by secular standards or honor their deeply held faith. We believe you shouldn’t have to compromise.

Many well-meaning Christian childbirth courses teach that birth must be painful because of Genesis. The prevailing thought is: God said it was supposed to be painful, therefore, it is. But there is a major flaw in this theology.
