Lakes Hypnobirthing facilitates an antenatal educational course. Lakes Hypnobirthing is a complete antenatal, labour and neonatal course. The method includes nasal breathing techniques that engage the vagus nerve stabilising heart rate, blood pressure, and reducing the chance of hyper ventiliation through labour. Along with education re the anatomy and physiology of birth, relaxation scripts, visualisation, and affirmations, you will find the course is empowering for the birthing mother. My favourite aspect is the bond between the couple is enhanced during the course, enabling the couple to truly be "team baby" The hypnobirthing couple their baby into the world together, each having a role to play during the labour and birth journey.

WONKY WINDING

Resharing as realised I haven't posted this for ages.

If a baby is unsettled with wind after a feed, or they are bringing up a lot of milk after feeds, try tilting them onto THEIR LEFT side a bit. Wind can often get stuck at the top of the stomach as the opening is slightly on the right hand side of the stomach.

If baby is facing you that means their head will be up on your right shoulder and legs towards your lef hip.

NB. NOT ALL BREASTFED BABIES NEED WINDING! If they are settled and comfortable after a feed, they are ok without winding.

Thanks to and for inventing the term.
