The Kagiso Seventh-day Adventist Church, in collaboration with the Trans-Orange Conference (TOC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, recently hosted a powerful Religious Liberty Sabbath themed "Living Out My Adventism: Freedom in Christ." This event, designed to inspire and empower the congregation, featured insightful discussions and a deep exploration of the ways the church can actively exercise its religious liberty in the mission of evangelising the community.

Representing the TOC, Chief Financial Officer Sr. Vicky Ziqu brought warmth and wisdom to the gathering, emphasising the importance of religious freedom in the life of every believer. Joining her was Advocate Jappie Strydom, the Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Director for the Northern Conference of South Africa. Advocate Strydom engaged the audience with thought-provoking insights, encouraging members to understand and utilise their rights to foster community outreach and enhance evangelistic efforts.

Pastor Thulani Mkhize, the Communications and PARL Director of the South African Union Conference (SAU), reinforced the day’s theme by highlighting that religious liberty is not merely a constitutional right; it is a profound freedom that we must continuously seek through prayer and action. His passionate message resonated with the attendees, reminding them that the exercise of this freedom is vital to their faith and essential for nurturing a vibrant church community.

Through this collaborative initiative, the Kagiso SDA Church and the TOC not only celebrated their shared commitment to religious liberty but also equipped members with the knowledge and tools necessary to promote this fundamental right within their communities. The day was a meaningful reminder of the power of faith in encouraging freedom and fostering a spirit of service, solidarity, and evangelism.
