This Pride and Youth month we discuss the tragedy of Generational Trauma and how we can begin to heal it. We inherit so many things from our families; looks, brains, illness, but rarely do we focus on the trauma we inherit from our families. So let's discuss how we can begin to heal. Join us for the conversation.

Calling all CACD and Arts and Health workers.
2020 Free State Arts & HEALTH Covid-19 pandemic Conversation.

Wednesday, 8 April, 2020 09:30 - 11:00 AM GMT+2
We at the Free State Arts & Health (FSAH) would like to invite you to join the 2020 FSAH Covid-19 conversation, where we will be discussing how we can engage with communities online during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the great impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the entire world, we find that it would be crucial to have an intensive and interactive conversation on how best to move forward with mediations with the communities we work with.

We all have diverse interdisciplinary practices that make up the landscape and the creative spaces for critical discourses supporting the growth of our work. This is why we feel it is imperative to discuss ways we can move Arts and Health forward in this critical time.

FSAH aims to stimulate artists, researchers, and practitioners whose work has bearing on the overlap between the creative arts and public health, to use this platform to strategize pathways towards meaningful impact through inclusive practice models, while being unable to engage with the communities we work with personally.

The conversation will be facilitated by Rea Mokone the Programme Manager for FSAH and brief keynotes will be presented by Lee-Ann Tjunypa Buckskin (Deputy chair: Australia Council for the Arts), David Doyle (Executive Director: DADAA, Western Australia), Emma Porteus (Artistic Director: Salamanca Arts Centre, Tasmania), Geraldine Reymenants (General Representative of the Government of Flanders in Southern Africa) and Edward Charles Human (South African First Nation Ambassador and member of the Free State Griqua Traditional Council).

We hope you will be able to join us on this discussion, where we endeavour to reposition ourselves in the current social climate.

The conversation will be taking place on Microsoft teams, if you would like to join the discussion please contact our Mark Dobson at mark.dobson@volksblad.com for any questions or enquiries contact Rea Mokone at Rea.mokone@volksblad.com.

Kind Regards
Rea Mokone
