Do you love gin but you’re not drinking alcohol? Or you’re in SA and alcohol is banned?
I have wonderful news!
Here’s a way how you can make alcohol free, immunity boosting gin 😃
And it uses grapefruit, which is very helpful for PCOS.

Did you know sleep deprivation is making your PCOS worse?

Lack of sleep has been linked to a whole bunch of health issues including heart disease, cancer, type two diabetes, cancer and type two diabetes. Studies now show that it affects PCOS too.

It increases the inflammation in your body. Inflammation is the enemy.

It increases the insulin resistance in your body too.

Theres a massive link between both inflammation and insulin resistance and PCOS so whatever you do to increase these markers affectively makes your PCOS worse.

Have you felt how, after a night of not sleeping well, you feel worse?

Like all your PCOS symptoms are amplified?

The other thing that happens is you crave carbs and sugar. Your body is searching for fuel to supplement for the lack of sleep.

It’s so important to sleep enough.

Let’s talk about water and PCOS.

Water is extremely good for PCOS. Especially if you have insulin resistance.

Water reduces inflammation in the body.

It helps to make the body more regular, which is helpful for PCOS as we usually have IBS as a secondary symptom.

It flushes toxins out of the body.

It lubricates the joints.

It boosts skin health and beauty.

It helps to maintain blood pressure.

It regulates body temperature.

Now, how much water should you be drinking?

Half your body weight (in lbs) in ounces. So if you weigh 150, halve that, which gives you 75. For 150 lbs you should drink 75 ounces of water.

It sounds like you’re going to p*e a lot, right? Yes. That’s the point. It flushes the toxins out of the body.

It's so important to make your health your number one priority, whether you have an auto immune disease or not.

Say this affirmation daily. The best times to say affirmations are the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night. Then take actions that support that statement.

What does it look like to make your health your number one priority?

- Ensure that you drink enough water. Half you body weight (in lbs) in ounces of water daily.
- Get enough sleep daily.
- Eat the right food. Monitor what makes you feel bad or depletes your energy and don't eat that. Sugar and wheat are common culprits.
- Ensure that you drink the right supplements. Natural supplements are better as your body absorbs natural ingredients much better and more efficiently than synthetic ones. Feel free to reach out to me for my list of supplements that I recommend for PCOS or otherwise.
- Get daily exercise. At least 30 minutes of exercise every day.

Did you know that coffee is bad for PCOS?

Could I have given you worse news?

It’s true.

It increases cortisol levels, which increases anxiety.

A study found that coffee can alter levels of estrogen.

Caffeine stimulates the adrenals and may lead to adrenal fatigue. This is a never ending tiredness. Awful.

Another study found that coffee reduces fertility. With the issues that we have with fertility it breaks my heart that coffee makes it even worse.

Lack of energy / fatigue is one of the symptoms of PCOS and when I don’t drink my supplements it hits me hard.
This affirmation helps.
Say it in the morning (when you have the most energy) and repeat it a couple of times during the day.
“I have enough energy to do all the things that I want.”
Resist saying that you feel tired.
Remember you create what you speak.
The more you say that you’re tired the more tired you will become.

A randomized controlled clinical trial found that cinnamon supplementation improves menstrual cyclicity and may be an effective treatment option for some women with PCOS.

The reason for this is that cinnamon may contribute to the improvement of insulin sensitivity.

Hey let’s pour some love onto our bodies - why not?

Repeat this affirmation daily.

So often PCOS makes us dislike our bodies but so much still works and let’s be grateful for that.

My eyes work. I can see. I need glasses but I can see.

My ears work. I sometimes only hear what I want to but my ears work.

I have all my limbs.

I don’t need to inject insulin.

I can move about freely.

There are so many things!
