Keep on doing what you’re doing — it truly sounds delightful and fills the Village with harmony and happiness!

Birthday vibes were definitely in the air in January 2026 as Mrs De La Rey celebrated her incredible 80th birthday!
What made this milestone even more special was her appearance as a guest on Groot FM, where she not only shared in the celebration but also did some wonderful marketing for Jakaranda Park live on air. Thank you, Mrs De La Rey, for your positive feedback and for always speaking so proudly about our Village.
She also invited fellow residents to join in the festivities, where sweet delights were enjoyed together under the Lapa. It was a heartwarming celebration filled with laughter, friendship, and joyful memories.
Here’s to 80 amazing years and many more beautiful moments ahead!

A special word of appreciation goes to Mrs A. Brits for her willingness to step in and assist Management at reception at Jakaranda Park while the team attends staff meetings.
Her support ensures smooth continuity at reception, giving residents and visitors the same warm welcome and assistance they are accustomed to. Her friendly nature and helpful attitude are a wonderful contribution to the Village community.

Every week, residents gather in the Hall at Jakaranda Park to enjoy the therapeutic effect of music. Voices echo through the hall as everyone embarks on a beautiful journey down memory lane, singing beloved old-time favourites.
The joy on each face and the sound of heartfelt singing create a warm and uplifting atmosphere that lingered long after the final note. These weekly sing-along sessions are not only fun but also wonderfully beneficial for the soul.
A very special thank you to Rina van Niekerk for taking responsibility for hosting and leading these cherished weekly sessions. Your dedication and love for music make all the difference!

There is something truly special about a community that grows together. Residents at Jakaranda Park take it upon themselves to maintain the gardens at each block of flats. It is a true communal effort, and the love for gardening is clearly visible in every flower bed and neatly trimmed pathway. It is with great pride that we present two of our four beautiful gardens — Karee and Kiepersol. These spaces are a reflection of dedication, teamwork, and the joy that comes from working in nature.
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who faithfully manage and maintain these gardens. Your time, care, and passion make our village bloom!

Mardi Gras was the theme of the New Year’s celebration at Jakaranda Park - and what a joyful start to the year it was!

Residents embraced the occasion by dressing up in true Mardi Gras style, adding colour and flair to our first big event after the festive season. It was wonderful to see everyone catching up on the latest news, sharing stories, and reconnecting after the holidays.

The delicious braai and baked potato dish was thoroughly enjoyed, and the festive theme sparked plenty of laughter and cheer throughout the afternoon. To make the celebration even more exciting, prizes were up for grabs for the best dressed — and our residents certainly rose to the occasion!

A fantastic beginning to the year, filled with fun, friendship, and community spirit. Here’s to many more memorable moments together in 2026! 🥳🎉
