For Alzheimer's Day, Reverend Johan Deetlefs delivered a beautiful message and prayer. Residents joined us in singing a few hymns - remembering those who have passed away as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Thank you to Emsie from ADASA, who joined us on the day. Every quarter, the team at Acacia Park hosts a family support group for the families of residents residing in memory and frail care. This is a great opportunity to gain knowledge on issues such as dementia, Parkinson's disease etc. Loved ones share their experiences and provide support to one another. Elke jaar word die Golden Oldies Spele, in samewerking ADASA, by Acacia Park gehou. Hierdie jaar het Helpende Hand se mense kom saam kuier asook die dames van Mind Moves wat die oefening groep by die oord aanbied. Acacia Park - wat verlede jaar die wenners was, het die trofee ingebring as deel van die opening seremonie. Van die items waarin almal deelgeneem het is Veerpyltjies gooi na balonne op ‘n draaiwiel, Skyfskiet, metaalvisse met ‘n magneet vang en nog vele meer. Die wenners die jaar was Yonder span 1, Huis Heldersig van Griekwastad tweede en Galeshewe Association for the Care of the Aged (GAASCA) span 2 in derde plek. Acacia 1 behaal die vierde plek. Na al die pret het almal heerlike aan Kerrie en rys gesmul en ietsie koud om te drink onder die koeltebome saam geniet. Wat n fees! Sien julle weer volgende jaar!

Acacia Park was privileged to welcome two of Trans-50's non-executive directors for a visit. Robin Blake and Gordon Yekelo spent the day getting to know the village, employees and the residents. Thank you for the lovely visit. It is hugely beneficial for non-executive board members to see how the village is managed and the possible challenges it faces. Thank you, Robin and Gordon - we trust that you enjoyed the visit to Kimberley and Bloemfontein.

Meet the Power-houses of Trans-50. During November, the five Trans-50 village managers had the opportunity to visit Acacia Park in Kimberley and Fichardt Park in Bloemfontein. It was a great opportunity for brainstorming, learning, strategising, and being creative. This close-knit team is responsible for the quality care and accommodation we provide at our villages. After a busy day, Vanessa treated the team to lunch at the Big Hole Museum. The team then set off for Bloemfontein to visit Fichardt Park the following day. Thank you to each manager for your integrity, work ethic, dedication, commitment and heart you have for our residents and employees. You are the best!
