Good Morning.... lets be kind to ourselves this weekend, take time out, regulate your nervous system, turn off devices, walk on the grass, spend time in the sun, breath.... its what our body is seeking out.... less is more, we would be wise to remember this.

We are living with our nervous systems braced - the world is on sympathetic overdrive, hearts racing, shoulders tight, breath shallow, hyperalert and hyperdisconnected. The news cycle never sleeps. Our devices never stop calling, with most people now seriously addicted. Our calendars leave no space for stillness - and lists, constant never-ending lists… Then we collapse into bed, mentally drained, and can’t sleep. We were not designed to live this way. Our bodies know the rhythm of tides, the hush of forests, the slow drift of clouds. Step into a forest, onto a beach or even into the back garden with your shoes off, and the pace changes. Spending time in that slower rhythm isn’t a luxury; it’s a way to remind our nervous system what balance feels like. In a world that won’t slow down for us, we can choose to slow down for ourselves. Put the wee phone down for 10 minutes and breathe - go on. Get outside, if it’s raining put on a coat. In a world that runs on overdrive, even a few minutes of nature can feel like an act of quiet rebellion. Your nervous system will thank you.☺️☺️☺️

Food for thought.

To accept what is means to acknowledge and embrace the reality that you find yourself in right now.

This includes not only the good things, but also the difficult situations or emotions. Acceptance without resistance or judgement.

Its about recognising things as they are, rather than how you wish they were, and allowing them to be without trying to change or avoid them.

This doesn't mean resignation or giving up, but rather conscious and intentional act of acknowledging the "present moment" and then choosing a path to pursue.

We always have choice. Each situation is an invitation for change.

TRE is a wonderful technique that allows you to be present to what is right now in a safe space without judgement. If you want more information please inbox me.

Symptoms of trauma can include:
fear, anxiety, panic, shock, numbness, avoidance of emotions, sleep disturbances, racing heart, easily startled, difficulty concentrating, irritability, self destructive behaviour, addictions to name a few....

What are signs of unhealed childhood trauma?

These include:
anxiety
depression
difficulty forming relationships
emotional dysregulation
low self-esteem
intrusive memories
trust issues
self-destructive behaviours
chronic stress
substance abuse
dissociation
sleep disturbances
somatic symptoms
difficulty with boundaries

I know that I suffered from at least six of these prior to my finding TRE and working with my nervous system

It now feels like on a cellular level my body speaks a different language. That is a profound change, and an invitation to lead my life differently now.

We have all heard of "FIGHT, FLIGHT AND FREEZE" responses to Trauma.

Did you know there is a fourth response - its called FAWN.

Fawning is a trauma response that uses people-pleasing behavior to appease or supplicate an aggressor, avoid conflict, and ensure safety.

This trauma response is exceedingly common and yet it is so commonly overlooked.

Can you relate to this trauma response? I definitely can, it was a way that i responded to my childhood trauma alongside freeze.

Since working with my nervous system alongside TRE i know that the way i respond these days is substantially healthier.
