Why does good posture matter?
It’s not just about standing tall. It’s about how your body moves, breathes, and feels. Good posture supports your joints, improves energy, and even boosts your confidence.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🩷🀍

It's important to be aware of any changes that may occur in your breasts. Early detection is important as most people will not experience any symptoms.

Breast cancer can have combinations of symptoms, which include:
* a breast lump or thickening, often without pain
* change in size, shape or appearance of the breast
* dimpling, redness, pitting or other changes in the skin
* change in ni**le appearance or the skin surrounding the ni**le (ar**la)
* abnormal or bloody fluid from the ni**le.

If you experience any of the above, consult your doctor.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🩷🀍

Breast cancer is a disease in which abnormal breast cells grow out of control and form tumors. If left unchecked, the tumors can spread throughout the body and become fatal. Approximately 99% of breast cancers occur in women, and 0.5–1% of breast cancers occur in men.

Certain factors increase the risk of breast cancer: increasing age, obesity, harmful use of alcohol, family history of breast cancer, history of radiation exposure, reproductive history, to***co use and postmenopausal hormone therapy.

A year ago today, Shannon Baxter Physiotherapy was born!πŸ₯‚

It all started with a dream that opened doors to amazing opportunities while building a beautiful community. I am beyond grateful to everyone who has supported me, who has entrusted me with their health journey and who continues to support my growing passion.

The journey has just begun! I look forward to many more years of good service, dedication, growth and learning together.

I am forever grateful. Many thanks,

As a physiotherapist, I am privileged to work closely with individuals who had lower limb amputations. For Limb Loss Awareness month, let's take a moment to honor their strength, resilience, and determination.

From relearning basic movements to mastering advanced prosthetic technology, every step of their journey inspires me. Let's raise awareness, break stereotypes, and celebrate the journey of those living with limb loss. Let's ensure that everyone has access to the support and resources they need to thrive.
