🍃SATA introduces Dr. Mujeeb Hoosen - a leading expert in Unani Tibb, serving as the Coordinator of Unani Tibb at the University of the Western Cape's School of Natural Medicine. He holds a bachelor's degree in Complementary Medicine (Unani Tibb) and a Master's in Medical Biosciences, where he focused on the immunomodulatory effects of African herbs. As a current PhD candidate, his research is dedicated to developing guidelines for spirituality and spiritual care in Unani Tibb practice in South Africa.

His influence extends globally through his work with the World Health Organization (WHO), where he has contributed to committees for Unani Medicine training, practice, and terminology. Notably, he was a WHO Field-Test Coordinator for ICD-11, which led to the inclusion of Unani Tibb on the global platform. Dr. Hoosen has also conducted numerous community-based projects on Unani Tibb and Prophetic Medicine, and his research on spirituality and holistic health has been published in international peer-reviewed journals.

🍃SATA introduces Dr Yumna Mayet - a Registered Practitioner of Unani Tibb and a Registered Psychological Counsellor, in private practice in Cape Town, South Africa. She is dedicated to ongoing professional development, and is passionate about preserving and promoting awareness and understanding of the wisdom and practices of Unani Medicine and Traditional Medicine.

Dr Mayet serves in the position of Council Member representing Unani Tibb on the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA), where she also serves as vice-chairperson of the Education Committee, and on the Communications Committee. She has additionally served on the Finance Committee and as both assessor and moderator for the Unani Tibb Professional Board Examinations administered by the council. Dr Mayet has acted as a field tester for the WHO ICD 11 for Traditional Medicine. Previously, she has been a lecturer as well as an external moderator for Unani Tibb at the University of the Western Cape, where she was also involved in curriculum development, besides lecturing in primary health, public health and psychology courses at colleges, authoring a chapter in a nationally prescribed Public Health textbook, and serving the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for a decade as a national assessor, moderator, and chair of standardisation meetings for assessment in healthcare courses.

Dr Mayet recently represented South Africa as an international delegate and expert speaker on Unani Medicine for mental healthcare at the Ministry of AYUSH CCRUM Unani Day and International Conference on Unani Medicine 2025 in Delhi, India.

🍃SATA introduces Prof. (Dr.) Arshiya Sultana, Professor of Amraze Niswan wa Qabalat (Obstetrics & Gynecology-Unani) at NIUM, Bengaluru, MoA, Govt. of India, is a distinguished clinician, researcher, and academician with 22+ years of experience.
She has guided 39 PG scholars, completed 22 funded projects, and authored 2 books (including Research Methodology in Unani Medicine), 23 chapters, and 140+ research papers with 1370+ citations.

She has delivered esteemed talks at global forums including the Zayed International TCAM Conference (UAE), Egypt, China, and other international platforms. Recipient of CCRUM National Awards—Young Scientist (2017-18), Best Research Paper (2018-19), Best Teacher (2019-20), along with a Gold Medal at AMU (2019) and multiple oral/poster awards, her expertise spans women’s reproductive health, Unani regimental therapies (cupping, leeching, venesection), AI-driven innovations, and public health service through outreach and NGO collaborations.
