I may have been keeping a little secret over the last 16 months. I have always thought about having a title of lactation consultant, although never truly having a vision to practice as one.😜The thought of doing the course seemed daunting and the self doubt on the discipline part really made me think twice… but back in March 2024, I was given an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. Mackie was a mere 6 months old. Who in their right mind would take on 16 months worth of lectures, assignments, practical etc? I guess jokes on me! I couldn’t have done this without my incredible husband, and amazing MIL. The sacrifices were hard and time spent away from my family is now truly worth it. I’m proud to say I have passed, well, kinda really well and all the time spent was worth it. I must add majority of this course was done during working hours between patients, I think I surprised myself the most 😂 although I might have this new little title , my focus is still womens health and breastfeeding support, I will not be filling the full time role of LC. I see it as an expensive add on to what I currently do. I never want to loose focus from the mom 💕 so thank you to all the new moms I saw for prac, you were amazing! So hip hip hooray! Another thing ticketed off, so what’s next?

October has been busy. My darling and amazing friend .her.physiotherapy and I did a little collab together. Wow am I just In awe at her how great she is and her ability to create magic, thank you Kirst for being YOU and trusting me to sprinkle a little of your magic! 💕

Life update: bobho. It’s been a sweet tender almost 22 months of selfless pumping-for McKinley to now ask for bobho. Boobie. Milky. Nummynums.
She only will ask at night time, during the night or when she is tired.
This all has happened after her second tongue tie release.
This is your reminder, never give up on something you truly believe ❤️❤️❤️ #

The end of a era. 💐Another chapter closes. 🥺Another leap in my career. 😬The last 18 months have been nothing short of constant learning, challengers and heart break at times. 💕I have thoroughly enjoyed my Tuesday Mornings at Tygerberg Hospital Urogynae Physio clinic. But with all good things, they do come to an end…. Sadly. Although I do think Iv done my part of 18 months of probono and volunteering.🙌🏻
Tygerberg was the place where I gained my confidence back after having McKinley, it’s the place where I grew as a physio especially having mentoring me, having guiding me. I have met some incredible humans and even better doctors that I so looking forward to working with in private.
So yay me, but also sad me. Thank you TBH. Thank you for allowing me to growth as a therapist and dig deep and continue what I LOVE doing

Never cry 😢 over spoiled milk. The true reality of the busy-ness of motherhood. Juggling many balls and trying to do this foreign aspect called balance. The balance can come in bits and bobs, some days better than others. Buuuut last night, an epic fail of note, I left 120ml fresh pumped breastmilk in my car… over night. My heart sank this morning, looking for the milk to give to mackie. Anyhoo… I’m so glad I’m still the walking dairy den.

Hello 👋

A few new faces around here so I thought it was time to do a little hello!

My name is Lauren but also known as mama, mum, Loz, Lolly, and the latest is Bruh.
I am firstly a mum 😍 to two amazing little humans, Loxton (6) and McKinley Pippa ( 21 months) and occasionally wife 😉
I have a deep passion for empowering women. Oh yes, I am a physiotherapist 😂 with a special interest in all things pelvis and boobie related, whether you are pregnant or not, trying to be, never want to or passed that phase, I’m here to support you all the way.
I am very privileged to be able to head up the Urogynae Physio clinic at Groote Schuur hospital and I’m on the tail end of 18 months volunteering at Tygberberg Urogynae clinic which I have dearly loved.
I tend to fill my cup by filling others. I am absolutely besotted with the work I get to do and love it dearly. I will always make time for a boobie emergency 🚨 weekends tend to be Rugby oriented or kid related. Also I love a good form massage 💆‍♀️
I drink roughly 3 Stanley’s a day but prefer sparkling water. I’m a true sweet tooth, you’ll tell if you see me 😉😉 my hips don’t lie 😂
My practice is based in Seapoint , and I am the physiotherapist for the maternity unit at Cape Town Mediclinic n Gardens and another location coming soon… southern suburbs here I come 😉
Sooo hello to you! If I haven’t met you yet, I am so looking forward to it!

Weaning is a big step…tender, emotional, and often bittersweet. 💛
For those that have been around a while will know my inner mom guilt about my pumping journey, so it’s taken a lot to get to this point 😔 Iv had to do a lot of inner reflections and make peace at how far Iv actually come and what I have been able to provide. It’s such a labor of love with very little or no reward 🙄
Whether its dropping your first feed or doing your last, know this😭you’ve given your baby so much love, comfort, and connection. That doesn’t end with weaning — it simply shifts into a new chapter.
I have officially started this process. I have been pumping for almost 21 months now. Iv dropped down to 2 pumps now a day. Emotions still intact 🙏🏻 b***s still adjusting 2 weeks later 😂

There’s no “right” way to do this. Soooo……Go gently. Be proud. You’re doing an incredible job. 💫
Something I’m needing to remind myself of.

💕 Mothers Day 2025💕
Happy mothers days to ones that are, waiting to be, grieving, those that are no longer, the single ones, the ones that are still deciding or the ones in the midst of fertility, the ones that have no relationship and the ones that yearn for one. Happy love day!
Today I am ten fold more grateful for these babaloos, the reason and why I get to be, the billion and one Mama said every day is my ultimate best, I will never get tired of hearing it!

Feeling a little proud, feeling a little overwhelmed but more importantly feeling empowered. Presenting at a congress like this truly made me dig deep out of my comfort zone. I am so grateful to my amazing colleagues that continuously nurture and encourage me and even more grateful to work along some phenomenal life changing doctors who believe in the work I do. 🙌🏻 it might have been short and sweet but it felt pretty good! Never stop learning 🙌🏻

-ps- not the best angle but if it’s not on the gram it didn’t happen 😂.
