How are pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas diagnosed?

Doctors may use:

✅ Blood or urine tests to check hormone levels

✅ Imaging (CT, MRI, or specialized scans) to locate the tumor

New ATA Guidelines for differentiated thyroid cancer are available. The 2025 Guidelines offer guidance for management and updated recommendations on surgery, RAI, and follow-up.

1. Reclassification of NIFTP:

📌Non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features has been reclassified.

📌Non-Invasive Follicular Thyroid Neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features: encapsulated, follicular growth, nuclear features, but no invasion, no necrosis, no papillae.

📌It is not classified as thyroid cancer anymore.

2. Pre-operation lab tests:

-TSH baseline
- TG
- anti-TG
- ultrasound

📌It is important to have a reference for follow-up after surgery

3. Imaging:

- ultrasound neck: always check for local staging and nodes
