✨ The "Why" Behind My Career Guidance Practice ✨
Like many teens, I remember sitting in high school feeling completely overwhelmed by the idea of having to decide “what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.” Everyone else seemed so certain, but I wasn’t. I had interests that didn’t fit neatly into one box, and the pressure to “get it right” felt heavy.
So I made choices that I thought were expected of me - and later realised they didn’t align with who I really was. That experience of confusion, self-doubt, and feeling “off-track” became one of my greatest teachers.
It sparked a lifelong curiosity about people - about how we make decisions, what motivates us, and how we find meaning in our work. I wanted to understand why we sometimes lose sight of ourselves in the process of trying to meet expectations, and how we can reconnect to our own sense of direction.
That’s what eventually led me into Career Guidance. Today, I help learners, parents, and adults navigate the same crossroads I once faced - with insight, confidence, and support.
Because I know what it’s like to feel lost.
And I also know the relief that comes when things finally click - when you start to understand who you are, what matters to you, and where you want to go next.
✨ For High Schoolers:
If you’re feeling unsure about your future, please know - it’s completely normal. You don’t need to have all the answers right now. The goal isn’t to decide forever; it’s to start discovering.
✨ For Parents:
If your teen feels uncertain or indecisive, that’s not failure - it’s part of the process. What matters most is giving them space, tools, and guidance to explore who they are before they decide what to do.
