NNP Feature Friday - We are so proud and grateful to have practitioners like Faranak Akhiani Amini in our community — those who walk alongside doctors, supporting patients in the spaces where busy clinical schedules often can’t reach. These are the changemakers driving the future of healthcare.

With over 18 years of experience in clinical nutrition, metabolic health, and the low-carb/ketogenic space, Faranak is a passionate advocate for viewing cancer through a metabolic lens — helping patients transform their health and offering hope through science-based, therapeutic nutrition.

She also recently joined Dr. Neville Wellington in a live discussion on the powerful topic: “What if we view breast cancer not only (or primarily) as a genetic disease, but as fundamentally a metabolic disease?”

If you’re a healthcare professional, nutritionist, or coach, you too can become a Certified Nutrition Network Practitioner (NNP) through our dedicated certification pathway.

Your eyes mirror your metabolic health. Subtle changes in the eye can signal insulin resistance, diabetes and oxidative stress—often long before other symptoms show up.

You can watch Prof Cripps’ lecture, ‘Why examining patients’ eyes might impact their lifespan & health span’, inside NN’s Basic Sciences training - the foundational science and physiology of metabolism and dietary effects. Available here: https://bit.ly/4nmiUPn

More about Prof John Cripps: Board-certified American and Canadian ophthalmologist, former Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, and a certified Nutrition Network Practitioner from our very first Medical Certification cohort.

Let’s talk about bones + metabolism! 🦴💥
Emerging research shows that your metabolic health -including blood sugar balance, insulin sensitivity, and body composition — plays a major role in bone strength.

Therapeutic Carbohydrate Restriction (TCR) can be a safe, effective tool to improve metabolic health without harming bone density when well-formulated and balanced with adequate protein.
