Help to care project is situated in South Africa's Vrygrond community. It is started in 1993 by one of the community leaders Daniel Hoorn. The communtiy comprised of approx. 1200 families in 1993 and has been growing ever since. Through amazing strides this community has managed to claim their right to live in Vrygrond, organized themselves to build their own homes, erect various self-help projects to develop themselves. Many reformed individuals have become important links of support to others. Daniel's Help to Care project is a driving force in the development of this community by:

* Informal counseling and support to families

* Health Awareness and Care - getting doctors and dentists to offer services to the community; nurses offered health assessments and education

* HIV & AIDS workshops

* Weekly Soup kitchen

* Distribution of clothing and food

* Services to the eldery - e.g. Christmas outing and party

* Child and Youth Educational activities

How you can Help to Care:

1. Volunteer your time and skills (also as a tourist)

2. Donate ingredients for our weekly Soup Kitchen

3. Donate toiletries, clothing and household goods

4. Make a financial Donation

Dear Vrygrond Help To Care Family

On 9 January 2020 Daniel Hoorn accompanied by his daughter Caroline Hoorn was on their way down to his hometown Douglas Kimberly to deliver some items for the community. Sadly they were involved in an accident due to a tyre burst.
We have truely seen the hand of God as both of them survived. It could have been so much worse but to God be all the glory!

Pappa says that it was nothing but the "Grace of God" and that his work here on earth is not done. His grateful to his daughter Caroline for handling the situation exceptionally well.

Please keep Daniel Pappa Hoorn and his daughter in your prayers as we continue to pray for complete healing.
