They have very strict schedules, and in the end, so do we. These routines organise us and benefit us physically and mentally.

Petting them, having them close by, or simply watching them sleep reduces stress and anxiety. They are pure therapy.

🐕 More nature in our lives
Thanks to them, we discover parks, forests, and outdoor walks that fill our daily lives with well-being.

🐕 They help us socialise
In the park, there is always a chat between ‘dog parents.’ Human and canine friends are made!

🐕 They improve our mood
A bad day changes in seconds when your dog greets you with joy and their favourite toy.

Adopt a dog! It's the best decision in the world.

Is your cat 🐱 stressed, ill... or just being a cat? How to read cat behaviour signals!

Understanding cats isn't always easy, but we assure you that by learning their body language, you'll be able to more easily recognise your feline companion's mood.

They don't speak with words, but they do try to communicate with us with their:

🐈 Gaze, ear movement and facial expression
Wide eyes and dilated pupils → Alertness, fear or stress.
Slow blinking → A sign of trust and calm.
Ears back or tilted → Discomfort or irritation.

🐈 Tail
Tail upright with curved tip → Your cat is happy and open to interaction.
Tail down or hidden → Fear or insecurity.
Rapid whip-like movement → Irritation. Better leave them alone!

🐈 Body posture
Relaxed and stretched body → Total well-being.
Crouched or ‘balled up’ → Possible pain or discomfort.
Arched with bristled fur → Feels threatened and is in a defensive position.

🐈 Vocalisations
Soft meows → Seeking attention or interaction from us.
Growling or hissing → Something is bothering them, so give them space!
Constant or unusual meowing → This is a warning sign, as they may be scared, stressed or suffering from physical discomfort or pain.

🐈 Changes in daily habits (eating, sleeping, using the litter tray, etc.)
If you notice changes in their daily routine, such as eating less, licking themselves more often, sleeping too much, avoiding the litter tray and urinating outside it, hiding more, etc., don't ignore it! Cats are experts at hiding discomfort, but if we pay attention to their usual behaviour and detect any changes, this is their way of alerting us.

Observe your cat, and you will understand him!
Each cat has its own personality and habits, so the important thing is to detect what is out of the ordinary for yours.

🐾 Do You Protect Your Pet All Year Round? 🐾

Summer brings sunshine, outdoor adventures… and a surge in internal parasites.

Warm temperatures, increased humidity, standing water, and more time spent outdoors create the perfect environment for internal worms to thrive. Pets are more exposed through contaminated soil, water, prey animals, and even flea ingestion — putting them at higher risk during the summer months.

Skipping deworming in summer doesn’t mean parasites go away. It often allows worm burdens to build up silently, leading to digestive upset, weight loss, poor coat condition, and more serious health complications later on.

Deworm all year round — especially in summer.
Don’t let the season of fun become the season of hidden health risks. Consistent parasite control protects your pet’s wellbeing and helps prevent environmental contamination in your home and garden.

👉 Always follow your veterinarian’s parasite prevention recommendations — summer included.

Cat in the carrier... No drama!

If you share your life with a cat, you've probably faced the sometimes impossible task of getting them into their carrier to leave the house. Cats don't like feeling trapped, and if they're not used to this “prison-like object”, going to the vet can turn into an odyssey, but don't worry!

We're going to give you some tips to help make the carrier a safe place for your cat. Take note!👇

🐈 Always leave it in plain sight
If the carrier only appears when it's time to go to the vet, it's normal for your cat to not even want to see it. Even if it's not the most attractive piece of furniture, leave it permanently in an area of the house where your cat usually spends time, open, so that they can explore it at their own pace.

🐈 Make it cosy and pleasant
Add their favourite blanket or toy inside. The more ‘homely’ and friendly it seems, the more confidence it will inspire.

🐈 Use rewards
Their favourite snacks, a cuddle, a game... Every time they approach the carrier, they deserve positive reinforcement, so they will associate it with good things.

🐈 Stay calm when you have to use it
Avoid rushing, loud noises or sudden movements. Your cat senses your mood, and if you are nervous at this moment, your cat will probably also become more fearful and stressed.

🐈 Safety and silence in the car
During the journey to the vet, it is best to place the carrier on the floor of the back seats so that it does not move. It is also advisable to cover the carrier with a light blanket or sheet to make your cat feel more protected and avoid possible visual stressors, such as seeing a dog in the vet's waiting room.

🐈 Natural relaxants, an extra help.
If, even with all the above tips, your cat still gets very nervous every time you need to use the carrier, we recommend consulting your vet about the use of natural relaxants, such as Anxitane.

Turn their carrier into a safe space!
With patience, routines and positive reinforcement, the carrier can cease to be an enemy for your cat and become a safe space for them.

☀️ SUMMER TIPS: The importance of skin care for dogs & cats

Summer is perfect for long walks and outdoor fun, but high temperatures, sun and insects can easily irritate or damage your pet’s skin. Taking care of it is essential for their comfort and wellbeing.

Essential Summer skin care tips

🌞 Sun protection
Areas with little fur (nose, ears, belly) can get sunburned. Use pet-safe sunscreen if recommended by your vet.

🦟 Keep parasites away
Fleas, ticks and mosquitoes are more active in summer. Regular parasite prevention helps protect their skin and overall health. Don't forget those internal parasites - deworm every 3 months with Milpro.

💧 Keep them hydrated
Dehydration affects the skin too. Always provide fresh water and shaded areas during walks or outdoor time.

🫧 Bathing & brushing
Frequent brushing removes dead hair and prevents knots that can irritate the skin. Use mild, pet-specific shampoos for baths, like the Allerderm range of shampoos.

🐾 Check their skin regularly
Redness, bumps or small wounds are more common in summer. If you spot anything unusual, contact your vet.

Healthy skin means a happier, more comfortable summer for your furry friends!

What to do (and what not to do) if your dog vomits

One of the most common veterinary consultations is for digestive problems, such as vomiting or diarrhoea.
Sometimes it is a once-off occurrence and resolves itself, like when we feel unwell after eating something, but on other occasions it can be something serious and require rapid veterinary attention.
For guidance on what to do and what not to do if your dog vomits, pay attention to these tips! 👇

✅ What to DO

➡️ Observe the vomit. Note the colour, consistency, and whether there are any food remains or foreign objects. All of this information is very valuable to the vet. Although it may not be pleasant, we recommend taking photographs of the vomit so that you can show them during the consultation.
➡️ Remove food and water for a few hours. When vomiting occurs, it is important to fast for at least 12 hours. Then offer your best friend water little by little and soft food. If they do not vomit again, gradually return to their normal feeding routine.
➡️ Check for other symptoms, such as diarrhoea, lethargy, fever or abdominal pain. If you notice anything else, call the vet urgently.
➡️ Create a calm environment. Let them rest in their favourite bed or blanket, and avoid stimulation or intense exercise.

❌ What NOT to do

➡️ Do not give them any medication without a prescription. You should never self-medicate your pets, as some of our human medicines are toxic to them, and we do not know the correct dosage or administration guidelines. Only follow your vet's instructions.
➡️ Do not give them food straight away. Their stomach needs a rest. Offering food too soon can make the situation worse.
➡️ Do not ignore repeated vomiting. If they vomit several times in a few hours or it persists for more than 24 hours, veterinary attention is definitely needed.
➡️ Do not assume that “it will pass” or postpone a visit to the vet, especially if you see objects or blood in the vomit. This is a veterinary emergency!

You know your dog better than anyone, so if you notice that “something is wrong”, trust your instincts and seek professional help as soon as possible.
