He was also part of technical team that qualified for Under 17 Total AFCON, Morocco 2021.

He is also part of Doctors who executed first ever PSL bio-bubble that took place in Johannesburg last year due to Covid19 pandemic. Tournament was very successful and that achievement raised the South African flag, as we were the first country to execute such a big tournament considering devastating Covid 19 pandemic.

Gonna those days when football was a way out to make it in life if you not good at school. Current football require footballers to be literate with football and understand every little details about football. For example: Before the standard formation was 4 4 2 but in this modern football, there are many formation implemented by managers/Coaches and requires players to be smart and clever to adapt to any kind of formation or coaches tactics.

As I mentioned earlier that in current football even if you can have best players in world (Messi or Ronaldo), you can still fail dismal because football has evolved i.e. more science applied to sport now, more tactical, very competitive and demanding. So for our local players to make it to big leagues around the world, they need to literate about football and have good insight, what its takes to be a footballer so that they won't struggle when they go overseas. Before we had a many players in Europe playing in big leagues like English Premier League of which in nowadays we don't have as many as we had. I think that is because of evolving of football, talent alone is not enough anymore, you need to be smart and literate with football of which our players are lacking. Different managers/coaches play different styles of football and of which as a player you need to adapt very quickly to such changes.

In conclusion football has evolve now and its more difficult for our local players to make it to higher levels. Such dilemma occurs not because of lack of talent but I think is a results of lack of resources in our country and poor players support system ( few sport medicine professionals). Even our ekasi/township coaches need to up their standard, attend some coaching courses or any academic programs.

Evolving of football and its challenges:

We have seen teams with world class players failing or being beaten by small teams, WHY ?. Football has evolved in a way that even if you can have Messi/Ronaldo in your team you can still fails.

This has put more challenge in our football in developing countries, making it difficult now to get a talent in street unless you find him at younger age. Football is now more technical and challenging. Technology has improved it and making it more difficult. I am fortunate to be Under 17 SA National team doctor, I have realize that 17 years is way too old and our development should start at least start at the age of 12. At the age of 15 years players are required to understand basics of football e.g. pressing high, exploring a space, positioning yourself in good spaces etc… For proper talent development all the stages should be trainned at professional level from the age age 12 till senior level. For example, its become more challenging for township boy who was found at the age of 17 to compete with a boy who was in Chelsea under 12, Chelsea under 15 and Chelsea under 17.

Talent alone won’t is not enough in modern football as I mentioned earlier that even team with Messi/Ronaldo lose games, unlike before when you have best players you are guarantee success. That is why now there are many upset in football. You likely to hear statement like, its first time since 1970 Team A lose to team B at home, first time Barcelona lose with more than 8 goals in Champions league, Liverpool lost to Aston Villa 7 -2 etc…
