What happens if you are very sensitive towards the feeling of paper?
Life is very tough, because every time you write or read in class you cringe... Imagine how hard it is for your nervous system to cope and not be in constant fight, flight or freeze!
I therapy we treat a sensitivity in 2 ways: first of all we desensitize and secondly we make adaptations where necessary.
In this session we used a fun activity to override the "scaryness" of a paper and in class we use proprioception (through for example chewing gum, or the appropriate fidget toys) as well as a glove or long sleeved shirt to help this boy cope better.
