Now Its a CRIMINAL OFFENCE

It has finally been gazetted. Failure to wear a mask while in a Public place is actually a criminal offence.

Section 6(1)(b) as read with section 11 of the Regulations. If found guilty you can be liable to a fine of 20,000/= or imprisonment for 6 months or both.

Failure to wear a mask in a public or private transport and public transport operators Section 5(4) must wear mask.

So don't say you were not warned. Share widely with friends so that they should not leave the house without a mask.

Public place means stepping outside your house. So, take precautions.

Demographic information released for the first time shows that 58% of the 123 South Africans killed by Covid-19 are men.

The biggest group of people to have died are in the 60-69 age group, health minister Zweli Mkhize said on Saturday.

New case of COVID-19 in eMalahleni

Just as the nationwide lockdown Level Four was implemented another positive case for the Coronavirus was reported in the midst.
The Department of Health spokesperson of Mpumalanga, Mr Dumisani Malamule confirmed the new case of COVID-19 in eMalahleni on May 1.

SASA UPDATE

Date :01 May 2020

South African Social Security Agency would like to inform all social grants beneficiaries who collect their social grants directly at cash pay points that the payment dates has changed. The dates were changed because SASSA will only start social grants payments on May 4 and 5 only old age grant and disability grant money will be available.

Social grants payments will no longer be effected on the first of the month. The other catergories of social grants will start receiving their money from May 6.

In Mpumalanga province payment of cash pay-points will start from May 7 until May 15. The payment schedule is available on request.

SASSA will like to plead with beneficiaries to communicate with Ward councilors, traditional leaders and also contact SASSA toll free on 0800 60 10 11/(013 754 – 9428/54 from 08:00 – 16:00 during week days Monday – Friday for the information of the new dates for cash pay-points payment, where the beneficiary is residing.
