Inzunza isn't a mermaid, and a mermaid isn't a nzunza. Mermaids fall under the category Ngernza spirit.
Ngernza Spirit:
Mermaids & other tribes of water spirits (inja yo lwandle, intlanzi, water snakes... (easily confused with umndau by some, or inkanyamba.)
They are of the water world belonging to the world.
There are good, and bad water spirits, some mermaids are demonic, can be seen with the wealth that people go, and plead for emanzini. Mermaids can help ngoku thwala, the activators of "bululu." These mermaids are hungry of flesh, blood, and soul, they too, seeking power beyond.
Water spirits aren't all so bad there are actually nice ones. Water spirits are the epitome of attraction, and seduction this is why they can easily manipulate, and lure you in. You can attest this with abantwana who have water spirits, their eyes are magnetic, and their presence enchanting, and mesmerizing.
Nzunza spirit:
The god of water spirit, a spirit closer to God's throne, or kingdom. The keeper of the waters, and all residing spirits. This chief spirit is secretive, private, and highly ranked. Called a serpent, but can very much shapeshift. This spirit is highly confused with Ngernza spirit especially inkosazana, mermaid spirit. Inzunza is the guardian of the water world, consistent, unchanging, and is a positive spirit. It reveals itself in dreams, and never to a huge number of people.
None of these spirits you initiate for, they communicate through dreams, initiate you through dreams, give instructions, and expectations thereof through dreams. Should you need a physical helper they'll assign one for specific tasks which are usually private. The one water spirit that requires initiating is umndau - parola, and ukufemba (if your Mundau comes bearing that gift.)
Dreaming of water doesn't always mean you have water spirits. You can have umndau, and not have a connection to ingernza or inzunza, etc... To say inzunza is the snake of amandau is hmmm, no. Anyway....
