Selfs helde het soms ’n blaaskans nodig 💛

Terwyl Dr Ansua en haar man vir ’n welverdiende ruskans in Kaapstad was, het hul storie hul vooruit geloop - hierdie keer op die blaaie van Die Huisgenoot. Ná ’n intense jaar waarin die Dr Ansua Foundation weer lewens verander het, waardigheid herstel het en hoop teruggegee het aan pasiënte wat nêrens anders kon hulp kry nie, was hierdie kosbare gesinstyd ’n sagte herinnering aan waarom hulle dit alles doen.

Wat hierdie storie só besonders maak? Baie van die operasies en sorg wat deur die Foundation moontlik gemaak word, word uit eie sak gefinansier. Nie vir erkenning nie, maar uit ’n diep roeping om ander te help. En nou, so aan die einde van 2025 en op pad na 2026, bly die missie dieselfde - om aan te hou gee, aan te hou help, en nog meer mense se lewens te verander met die ondersteuning van die gemeenskap.
Die pad vorentoe is vol hoop — en daar is nog soveel mense om te help.

A year ago, Gerhard’s life changed forever when he received a cornea transplant and more recently a Cataract surgery through the incredible work of Dr. Johan Kruger, the Gift of Sight, and the Dr. Ansua Foundation. What once felt impossible became a reality – slowly but surely, Gerhard’s vision began to return.

Today, he can see the world more clearly, go back to work, and live a normal life again. The simple joy of independence and the gift of sight is something words can hardly describe.

Thanks to the compassion and generosity of Dr. Kruger and the Gift of Sight NPO in Cape Town.

To everyone who stood beside Gerhard, who gave their time, skill, and heart – thank you. You haven’t just restored his vision; you’ve given him hope, dignity, and the chance to see life in full colour again.
