🏊🏼 Drowning remains one of the biggest risks during the December holidays - at beaches, tidal pools, private pools and holiday accommodation. 🏊🏼

Cold ocean water, strong currents, crowded beaches, unsupervised pool time, alcohol consumption and fatigue all increase the risk.

Drowning is often silent and fast, with no splashing or shouting.

If someone is pulled from the water or pool and is:

• coughing persistently
• short of breath
• unusually tired or confused
• complaining of chest tightness

🚑 SecureMed should be activated immediately.

Early medical response can be lifesaving.

👉 Water safety starts with awareness.

🚨 Swift Medical Response in Bellville

Bassett Alarms control received a call regarding an incident in Bellville. A/R Siebert was immediately dispatched and found Mr. L. Thomas, who had fallen from a ladder and injured his lower back.

SecureMed Ambulance (SM8) arrived shortly after, provided on-scene treatment, and transported the patient to Kuils River Hospital for further medical care.

A big thank you to our Bassett, control rooms and the team for their quick response and professional assistance.
