At Freeman House Recovery, creating a sense of safety and trust is where the work begins.

CEO Alan Freeman shares how opening up about lived experience can help ease the fear and uncertainty many clients carry when they first arrive. While every journey is different, there is a shared understanding in what it feels like to struggle, to question, and to take that first step toward change.

By leading with empathy and honesty, the team creates a space that is free from judgment and shame. A space where clients can sit with what they’re going through, feel truly seen, and begin to process it in a way that feels safe and supported.

Because healing doesn’t start with having all the answers. It starts with connection, understanding, and the willingness to walk alongside someone as they find their way forward.

Today at Freeman House Recovery, we are celebrating Addiction Counselor & Coach Dylan Brown on his 7-year soberversary.

Dylan’s own journey through addiction, identity conflict, family fragmentation, and a lack of healthy guidance has shaped the way he shows up in the therapy room: with empathy, insight, and a deep understanding of what it means to fight for a new beginning.

Every day, he walks alongside clients as they uncover solutions, build resilience, and move toward a life they once believed was out of reach – one defined by renewed purpose, clarity, and dignity.

Dylan, thank you for turning your lived experience into hope and healing for others. Your 7 years of sobriety are more than a milestone; they are a powerful reminder that recovery is possible.

Addiction often leads to isolation, not because people don’t care, but because fear, guilt, and shame take over.

Fear of being judged. Fear of letting people down. Fear of not being where you thought you’d be.

So people withdraw. They stop answering calls. They avoid being seen.

Waiting until you feel “ready” to change doesn’t always happen. Sometimes it takes support. Sometimes it takes intervention.
At Freeman House Recovery, we see the person behind the struggle. Recovery begins when isolation ends.

Recovery is about more than just breaking a cycle. It is about rebuilding the body, restoring the mind, and creating a foundation for a healthier future.

At Freeman House, nutrition plays a powerful role in that process. Every meal is thoughtfully prepared using fresh, nutrient-dense ingredients to help repair what addiction has depleted. From supporting brain function and mood stability to improving energy levels and reducing cravings, proper nutrition is a key part of long-term recovery.

Clients don’t just receive meals. They experience a home-like environment where food becomes part of healing, routine, and self-care. It is about learning how to nourish your body in a way that supports lasting change.

When the body is properly fueled, everything else becomes stronger. Clearer thinking, better emotional balance, and the ability to fully engage in the recovery journey.

If you or someone you love is ready to take the next step, Freeman House offers a supportive, holistic approach where every detail matters.

A client wrote us this song about their experience at Freeman House Recovery.

From feeling like “life ran over me” to feeling like “that’s the place I wanna be,” these lyrics say more about recovery, accountability, and hope than we ever could.

We’re grateful for every person who walks through our doors and chooses to stay, try again, and keep showing up.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and we’re taking time to clear up some of the most common myths about drinking. Many people believe alcohol helps them sleep or cope with stress, but it actually disrupts sleep, increases anxiety, and often makes things harder over time.

Long-term use can impact your brain, liver, heart, and mental health, even if it starts out as “just to relax.” At Freeman House Recovery, we talk honestly about these realities so our clients can understand what’s really going on and feel less shame about asking for help.

Addiction is not a moral failure or a lack of willpower; it’s a medical condition that affects the brain and behavior, and recovery is possible with the right support and community.

If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, Freeman House offers world-class, medically assisted detox and therapy at a fraction of typical global costs, while accepting most international medical aids and insurances.

Freeman House Recovery offers world-class care in a private, tranquil setting. 🌿

One person may battle addiction, but the whole family lives with it.

Recovery doesn’t just heal the individual. It restores relationships, rebuilds trust, and helps families begin to breathe again.

Addiction affects everyone in the circle. The late nights, the worry, the distance, the pain—it all takes a toll. But healing can ripple the same way. When one person chooses to get better, the impact spreads far beyond them.

At Freeman House Recovery, we believe recovery takes a team. Counselors, therapists, peers, and families all working together to support lasting change.

Because when the family heals, the chances for recovery grow stronger than ever.

Recovery is not a solo mission.

Dylan Brown, Addiction Counselor, Peer Recovery Specialist, and Recovery Coach at Freeman House Recovery, explains why true healing takes a team — therapists, counselors, and family members all working together to support one person’s journey.

There’s no one-size-fits-all path to recovery. Each individual brings their own story, experiences, trauma, substance use history, and family dynamics — and effective treatment must honor that.

At Freeman House Recovery Center, this is what we love most about the work we do:
meeting people exactly where they are, learning from their lived experience, and building individualized therapeutic approaches that fit their reality, not just a textbook model.

If you or someone you love is navigating recovery, remember: you don’t have to do it alone, and you deserve care that is as unique as you are. Visit freemanhouserecovery.com to learn more!

Having friends who are proud of you for getting sober changes everything. The people around you can either pull you back into old patterns or remind you every day why your new life is worth it.

A sober community matters because it reminds you that you are not alone, it helps you stay accountable, and it gives you people who truly understand what you are walking through. Healing is hard to do in isolation. It gets more possible when you have a circle that celebrates your progress and holds hope with you on the days you forget you are making it.

If you are rebuilding your life in recovery, you deserve friends who are proud of your growth and excited about where you are headed.

03/04/2026

At Freeman House Recovery, we know that real change rarely happens in isolation. That is why we value partnering with people and programmes who are just as committed to walking the full journey as we are.

From interventions and personalized placement to a strong aftercare network, the goal is the same: making sure no one has to navigate recovery alone or fall through the cracks.

We also speak about one of the most important pieces of all fellowship. Finding your tribe, people who truly understand you and walk the same road, can completely shift the odds in favour of long term recovery. When professional support and fellowship work together, hope becomes a lot more possible.
